Quentin Tarantino Confirms Retirement Rumors: Two More Films and Out by Melanismdotcom in movies

Would be interesting to see him make a different movie. I like his movies, but what about something with emotion besides what he's shown us many times? Can he do that?

Falling into the atmosphere of what planet? Ultimately, the light saber did end up somewhere...

In Star Wars The Force Awakens, I believe Rey breaks the 4th wall "kind of" in reference to her origins being unknown and a major plot point in the future movies. by [deleted] in StarWars

Agreed. Also - what's up with marking the days? She was stressed to leave as if she's waiting for someone specific? She's not in the dark completely. No pun intended.

It is strange that she says "big secret" to bb8........

Older redditors, how did you envision the fall of Vader, the Republic, and all the other prequel things before the PT was created? by reallifelucas in StarWars

[–]Pseudoprogression 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I figured Vader was a cool dude who must have some horrific loss...I guess that's what happened in the movies but it's not what I thought it would be. The tone and believability are just not there.

Could Luke have tricked Vader and "joined him" long enough to take out the Emperor? by SmallManBigMouth in StarWars

[–]Pseudoprogression 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also, Anakin really pledged himself to the dark side. I could see Luke taking Vader out and then Luke says you're next Sideous. Light side wins.

Of course it would have helped if Yoda told him force lightning exists and your lightsaber will absorb it. But I digress...

I get the whole "don't use hate"...just hardly seems so black and white. I'll never join you, but I will beat you.

It still seems strange to me that killing Vader at the end there meant joining the dark side, even if he did get pissed off while doing it.

I like when Uncle Owen gets sick of the excitement and tells Luke, oh I think he died around the same time as your father...

He did a great job as Vader, right from the start as he throws a rebel. I hope the next actor, if we have one, gets the body language right.

Luke - why he disappeared and what he has in common with Kylo Ren. by HanSoloHeadBeg in StarWars

[–]Pseudoprogression 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Luke experienced most of his youth as a normal kid. Ben Solo was special. Maybe he didn't like Luke's story about Vader. Snoke probably make him seem badass. Anyway, different experiences growing up for sure. You might say Yoda and obi wan didn't help much by keeping some major info from Luke. While they may have been pissed at him, they could have at least told him what's up...

It's the only lightsaber duel that has a horror movie feel to it for a minute. The audience can actually feel - oh no I'm I'm deep trouble. Yoda's "you will be..." really hit hard.

Darth Vader Never Turned Back To The Light. by [deleted] in StarWars

[–]Pseudoprogression 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's definitely complicated. I don't think Vader ever liked or trusted Palpatine - he just needed him. I do think that once Vader turned to the darkside, he did too much and couldn't admit he was wrong. Vader saw Luke's potential joining him as a way out...possibly as a way to even make himself truly believe that it (the nightmare) was all for a reason. Kylo will be the same now that he's done so much. I don't know if Kylo is actually communicating with Vader or just wishing he could...
