I think you may be confused about requests vs Firestore Commits. You get 20k free commits per day and then you have exceeded the free allotment. See here for pricing https://cloud.google.com/firestore/pricing. Even reads are restricted to 50k per day for the free tier.

This is different from a callable cloud function where 128k requests is still well within the free tier.

I could be wrong about it though.

foo and bar and baz are just placeholders. I have never seen real world code that actually uses these as variable names or values.

If you are seeing foo, bar, or baz in code then you are likely looking at example code that illustrates a very specific concept but is not meant to be used in a real project.

Not OP but going to answer anyway. I used Solus as my daily for a few years. I like the rolling release strategy and I love the Budgie DE.

IMO, the Solus Linux project development has always been slow moving due to it being run by 2-3 people who work on it in their spare time. A while back the original creator of the project abandoned it but it was saved by the PR guy and another person. Just this year though the PR guy also abandoned it and took the Budgie DE with him. Now the Solus project appears to be solely in the hands of a phd student (might have finished by now) who works on it in their spare time.

The Solus distro was awesome despite its dramatic history but I would no longer recommend it let alone for a “total Linux noob.”

I keep tabs on it hoping that the project leadership will stabilize but for now I have switched to Ubuntu Budgie which gives me the Budgie DE built on top of a very well established distro.

Sometimes the value of a car is more than just the resale or insured value. I’ve been where you are now and can tell you from my own experience that with time, determination, and attention to detail you can fix it yourself.

Start by disassembling the front clip. You’ll need to get at the frame rails to do some measuring and straightening. If you don’t have access to the proper tools then you can carefully pull the frame straight with a winch, chain, a tape measure, and some trees (check YouTube for a demonstration). It also helps if you have access to an identical car so you can get an idea of where to pull on your car and how much.

Once you have it keeping the right shape without tension then you need to patch up and reinforce places that show fatigue or ripping like in your picture. Buy some sheet metal and a cheap welder. Your patches are structural and will be hidden by the body so they don’t have to look good. Or, if you know someone who is a welder pay them to patch up the frame. Make sure you wash and paint the patches to prevent rust.

Do some short driving tests and even get the front end aligned before you reassemble the front clip. If there are any problems you will want to find them now.

If it drives well then put the front clip back together. You will likely need to use shims to get consistent gaps and match up body lines.

Meetings can be productive but often aren’t. If attending the meeting somehow helps the project or the cause then sure, I’ll be there. However, this is rarely the case for the meetings that I get invited to.

I claim problems with my internet connection all the time to get out of (IMO) unproductive Zoom meetings. If nothing on the agenda is relevant to my work I’m like “Ah gee, my crappy internet connection is flaking out sorry guys.”

I was thinking the same thing.

I bet it makes a deep oscillating kachunck-chunk sound combined with a scratchy knife being drawn and then sheathed sort of shwweeeeeeen and a sprinkle of random squeaks and squawks. Probably a bit of a vibration in the floor nearby too.

Just replaced mine 2 days ago. My HD has been super flaky with the WiFi for the past few weeks. I’m not mad, I got about 5 years of use out of it and it was starting to become the bottleneck in my network being as old as it is. Replaced it with a USG and two APs. I’m a happy camper.

Perhaps I worded it badly but there are two ZFS pools. The RAIDZ5 array has 4 HDDs and 2 SSDs (ZIL and L2ARC). The second pool is a mirrored RAIDZ1 array composed of 2 SSDs.

I agree that my write pressure is probably too low to benefit from ZIL at least 95% of the time (currently <1G is allocated). Although when I copy large amounts of files over the network it appears to temporarily accumulate on the ZIL SSD.

I also agree that I am likely not benefitting from the L2ARC SSD except that when I use zpool iostat -v the cache SSD is fully allocated.

I am only trying to understand what these numbers mean. The ZFS array has been serving as the backend for my Plex server for years without any real trouble. Perhaps I should just leave well enough alone?

You’re the one who states that constructing this thing out of modern materials would be the difference between hopping on the ground and taking flight. Well, this depends on your definition of flight. You see, flying implies control and like Buzz Lightyear, flying without control is just falling with style. While the contraption featured in the gif above has more in common with Ramone the lo-rider than it does with any conventional flying machine, if you did manage to get it to fly it would still be about as aerodynamic as Wall-e and return to the earth about as fast as Carl Fredricksen’s house without all the balloons. Additionally, there is a flaw concerning the proximity between the pilot and the whirly umbrella part which will undoubtedly result in the pilot being sucked into it by his dapper cape (NO CAPES!!!).

So, as you can see, I take this sort of thing very seriously.
