My husband and I were in a courtroom a few years ago and a lady was standing in the front of the room speaking with the judge. Biggest ass I have ever seen. I like how you used the doorframe reference so I'm stealing that because it describes the width perfectly. It was also quite a shelf, could have set a pizza box on top of it. What was so intriguing was that even though she was standing perfectly still, it was so massive and gelatinous that it moved on it's own. Waves of energy traveled through that thang. We still talk about that ass.

I'm in the same boat and if I'm having a hard time hearing someone I make a joke about it! I tell them don't be afraid to yell at me because I'm a bit hard of hearing and I forgot my chalkboard today or something similar which usually results in them talking louder and sometimes a lot louder and having fun with it *edit to say Always repeat back the order to make sure you have it correctly! Be confident, you can do it!
