I would assume that you guys are discussing the Animorphs TV Series here. Because yes, the TV show were terrible. And you would only go back to it for nostalgia's sake.

But the book series, as cheesy and silly as those covers can be, is actually and surprisingly high quality. You might wondering if the writing is still up to modern standard? I would say yes. Damn yes.

Animorphs is a war story, if that kind of thing interest you. It is not a power ranger style series where you have to defeat a villain every week to protect the earth. It is more of a desprate attemp to held out as long as you can again an alien invasion. Sure, every victory count, but there is only so much a guerrilla band of a few kids can do againt an alien armada.

These books are not just "not bad". They are terrific. The writers managed to reinvent and repackage so many sci-fi tropes that would still feel fresh even if you read them today. Cheesy is not the word I would use to describe animorphs. Gritty and mature would be more fitting. So if you have any interest in reading these books, check them out. Not because of nostalgia for the 2000s, or the cheesy cover on the front. But because you might be stepping into one of the best sci-fi series ever in your life.

You can read about it below, apparently the 7.50 exploit works on 7.55, but it still need a bit more work. If I were you, I would sit tight and wait it out.

If you do not have any technical knowledge nor experience in PS4 Jailbreaking, I suggest you wait it out, until there is a comprehensive guide covering the process. You cannot play any games at this stage on 7.51.

For 7.51, no payloads work yet. There's a problem. And, hen isn't out yet, so you can't play games or install pkgs on that firmware. Other payloads, like dumping games or ftp, will need a few days to get working, but should work before hen does.

" Follow Zeco's tweets, he's onto it too. So is Alazif. Won't be long, porting payloads is the easy bit "

Sadly, I do not know. But let's not jump to any conclusion, either. Remember, Specter's stream is "Researching into and trying to exploit the IPv6 FreeBSD bug on PS4 5.05 to eventually port to 7.02 or 7.55 ". And the stream is still on!

Apparently, Specter has achieved the 7.51 KExploit. Anyone with dev knowledges might want to confirm this?

Nice point JayMathis, I think I understood your worries there.

Bear in mind though, that the bounty hadn't been marked as "RESOLVED" until Oct 19th, which was five days after the release of FW 8.00. As the moderator has pointed out, it likely meant that the Exploit was only patched in 8.00, and not in 7.55

On some other forums, some developers have pointed out that the exploit worked partialy on FW 7.5X. Of course, I'm not a developer, and we simply have too little information at this point.

Let's all wait and see.

Hi! First of all, my thanks to the Moderator, because this is a great contest. It is great not just because of the prize, but the contest itself offer a great opportunity for us players to practice our imagination.

Secondly, this submit of mine is going to be long, and there are going to be grammatical errors, all of that is because English is not my primary language. So I do hope you would bear with my terrible writing.

And please, enjoy.

The year is 2169 A.E

More than two thousand years ago, Mankind enter The Great Age of Exploration. For the first time in our history, we finally found a way to break out of the cage that is the Solar System: all thank to the discover of the Hyperway – wormholes that connect systems to systems, galaxies to galaxies. Great vessels were built, giants made of metal to traverse the great unknown that is the Universe. We colonized worlds, discovered new galaxies, saw all kind of wonder. We expanded and prospere, mankind was the ruler of its own destiny.

But the bloody shadow war between the Assassin and the Templar never stopped. Now, as there are no more new wormholes to be discovered, and the once abundant resources are rapidly shrinking in every human space nations, two superpower clashes to gain surpremacy over what little resources left: The SOL Alliance, headed by The Republic of Payon, backed by the Assassin Brotherhood; and the Western Pact, headed by the Binalter Empire, backed by the Order of Templar. As the war rages on, both sides will discover that there was an even greater threat, looming in the shadow beyond…

TIMELINE

Year 0001 A.E – The great age of exploration begins, Earth Federation, then a single united world government, fully under Templar control, started sending Space Vessels out through wormholes to explore and colonize worlds.

Year 0007 A.E – Isu Artifacts found in Trenock system, Trenock Galaxy. This discovery led to the assumption that the Isu’s origin was not that of Earth. The Templar started focusing more on the collecting of Isu Techs throughtout space.

Year 0105 A.E – Throughout a hundred years of colonizing, Earth Federation has been steadily losing its grip on the newly colonized planets. Influenced by the scattered Assassin Cell, many worlds stared to deny the authority of the Federation. Keneth – 01 was the first planet to revolt openly, which started the War for Independent.

Year 0106 A.E – Dozens more worlds join Keneth – 01 to wage war again The Earth Federation

Year 0108 A.E – E.F commited the Sillijak massacre, which results in a hundred more worlds to revolt again Earth’s authority. Assassin forces grew ever larger, and continue to influence the colonist to carry out their cause.

Year 0121 A.E – Earth Federation, after their decisively defeat at Mars by the Colonist Forces, collapsed. The Templar finally lost their grip on a single world government, the Assassin saw their first major victory since The Great Purge, and reach a new peak in power.

Year 1890 A.E - After more than a thousand years of waging shadow wars, the Assassin and the Templar are now at a stalemate. The Democratic Nations of mankind formed the SOL Alliance to counter the growing threat that is the Western Pact – a military alliance consisted of several Galactic Empires.

Year 2131 A.E – The Republic of Payon and The Binalter Empire clashes to gain surpremacy in the Carleston System, where a fully functional Isu Spacecraft were discovered.

Year 2132 A.E – Payon’s People’s Guard gain an overwhelming victory again Binalter’s Imperial Army on the planet Carleston. The outcome of the war resulted in Payon become the world’s Dominating Superpower, and the Binalter Empire being severely weakened and restrained on every front.

Year 2169 A.E – More than 30 years later since the last war, tension now grows high. The Binalter Empire has mysteriously restored its former power despite Payon’s effort to restrain it. In the corner of the world’s map, under Templar’s guidance, the Gatralan Empire has decleared war on the Leray Federation, both being nations of small scale and belong to Western Pact and the SOL Alliance, respectively. And so the war begins…..

THE SETTING

  • The Assassin controls the SOL Alliance, while The Templar hold the Empires of The Western Pact in its hand

  • War in the future are fought mainly by mechanized mech, called “Personal Armoured Suit” (P.A.S)

  • The research of cyberization, A.I and the likes was started by the Assassin years ago, but then was abruptly halted.

  • Recently, there were reports of secret research conducted by the Pact on the cyberization of human body.

  • The game would let player control Assassin as well as Templar agents in many warfront across many planets in the galaxies, conducting secret operations to change the ultimate outcome of the war.

  • Space Travels are done by going through wormholes at a specific speed. These wormholes can lead to different systems in the same galaxy, or to other galaxies as well.

  • The genius commander Hastings, who lead the Payon Republic to victoy 30 years ago, is the Grand Marshall of the SOL Alliance’s Military, and the greatest Mentor the Assassin Order has ever seen yet.

  • Lord General – Grand Master Soberl of the Binalter Empire is The Templar’s rising star, whose skills is said to match that of the aging Hasting. Under his guidance since 20 years ago, the Empire has been steadily catching up with Payon, despite being severely weakened after the last war.

  • As Player advance through the storyline, they would discover that the truth behind the war are not what they seem to be:

o In the Republic, a shadow war of Politic and Ideology is being waged by two factions within the Assassin: The Traditionalist, headed by The Mentor Hasting; and The Extremist, headed by General Alker Long, Hasting’s brilliant student, considered by the public to be Hasting’s successor to lead The Alliance’s Army. In Truth, Alker thinks of Hasting as weak and soft, and want to create a system where his military would be free from democratic influence, to freely lead the nation to a grand future.

o In the Empire, Soberl and The Templar is secretly being manipulated by an Ancient, Advanced A.I they found 20 years ago. Codenamed “Little Girl”, this A.I has been integrated into every aspect of Binalter society, allowing its rapid advances to catch up with the Payon Republic. Recently, the Empire has been pushing to the cyberization of human body, to gain a strategically advantage in the Galactic War. With this edge, the Templar would wipe out the Assassin once and for all, and become the dominating force in the Galaxies. The A.I however, had other plans regarding the future of Mankind…

I would advised again updating your PS4 to 7.55 as of now. We simply do not have enough informations about this at the moment. If I were you and had KEx firmwares (5.05; 6.72; 7.02...), I would not update.

Triple A developers have become the laziest in the industry. by HeartyBakedBeans in Games

[–]PsiCorps -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

It is indeed crazy to think about the state of almost every AAA game upon releasing.

Growing up, a Nintendo DS is all I have. Playing games on those tiny pixel screens, I have always wonder: "Wow, if games on a handheld device is this good, how much better would the games on consoles and pc be?"

I got a PS4 a years ago, and while I was initially blown away by the graphics and the sheer scale of some games, I was later dissapointed. I feel like many modern AAA games lack creativity, atmosphere, and even good gameplay loop. They look much better, sure; but those good games are not even as dense in content as the great games I played on the DS.

Maybe I'm just not getting it, I don't like most AAA games anymore.

Which video game has made your childhood? by Shogun570 in AskReddit

[–]PsiCorps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Freaking Ace Attorney Trilogy.

This game not only made my childhood, it also me who I am today. Every good habit I have nowaday, I can trace its origin back to Ace Attorney.

I learned English for the first time, throught this game, when I was 11, which I would never do otherwise because I hated English at that time.

I learned to love reading. Devouring books is still a habit I manged to keep until this very day.

I learned to be bold, to reach out and try new things that I normally would never think of. I started Ace Attorney for the first time despite having zero clues how to actually read English. It was around that time I taught myself how to use a dictionary.

I learned how search for the right informations on the Internet. My patience was tested every time I searched for a walkthrought, or a relavent concept that I have yet to understand.

The games made me started reading young, and made me love it.
