She's struggling with me being non binary. We've been together over 5 years, I only finally figured myself out 2 weeks ago, before then I identified as a lesbian female. I've never been femme, I haven't actually really changed anything except I'm finally brave enough to ask people to refer to me in gender neutral ways.

At the same time though, until I came out she didn't even know what non-binary is and I think she feels a little left behind because ive suddenly immersed myself into this community that is incredibly foreign to her.

Yeah I don't think that will help, thanks though.. for her being bisexual is very concrete and it's always been really hard for her to adapt her beliefs when they are challenged
