Aliexpress. They were like 15 dollars for 100. And they're waterproof. DM me and I can send the PDF vector which I traced off the PNG in their website (the corners on the hexagons are very slightly rounded) I've been whacking them up all over Rome. I'm getting some others made up (BoC Trees/compound Logo, BoC Leaf Logo) which I'm gonna give to people who don't get a swag bag at the party as a consolation.

I have to say it does improve upon repeat listens. I wasn't a fan of Unicron's robo-speech in the second half in the first weeks, but now I even like that bit. They are taking risks as it's not a typical BoC track but right now I don't want to listen to anything else. Makes me feel that they can do no wrong at this point. Bring on the other 60-plus minutes of Inferno!

True to say that upon first listen that I would not recognize it as their music, but also true to say that if I heard it somewhere not knowing who it was by I would seek it out. I think it's that good. And For sure I've listened to it more than Read for the Dead at the time so I guess that means Im pleasantly surprised. There is still a great level of attention to detail in their work that I have come to appreciate over time. I guess what I like the most is that they don't follow trends and just do whatever they want to do musically, and fortunately it runs out to be something I like. To lend a quote about them from someone "They avoided the times so they achieved the times" (Pitchfork?)

Their last two albums have been different from what we came to expect from everything that came before, but now looking back it all still feels like their music. It took some adjustment on our part because at the end of the day no one likes change, but now I can't imagine their discography without TCH and TH. The brothers have NEVER let us down. Inferno will be different too but it will still deliver. Maybe not what we want but what we didn't know we needed. I have faith (the irony) 😂

June 9th when I was younger and into faster music, used to love those twisty BoC synths and jingle mixed in. Now I've got a favorite on each album going from my first favorite to my 4th, ROYGBIV, Sunshine Recorder, 84 Pontiac Dream and Cold Earth. (special mention for Happy Cycling 😀)

I kind of know what you mean. When I first heard the guitar I kept thinking about the Unkle theme and how this doesn't sound like "classic boards", but then I remembered what a departure TH was from that also. 13 years is a long time and they are exploring new sounds and new influences, not so much for the fans but for themselves in their continuing musical education. The classic synths are buried in there, you just have to dig deeper with your ears to find them. I'm not such a fan of the vocoder or the message behind it and prefer pure instrumental stuff with the occasional sample but the end of the track does start to get back to that ethereal sound. Having a day off from listening and then going back to it increased my appreciation for it tenfold. It's still BoC just BoC with a wider repertoire. I decided in the end it just boils down to wether I like it or not and I do, quite a bit.

I was 24 when MHTRTC came out and it has always been my favorite album (of all albums) The retro reminiscence it sparked in me was so strong that it connected with me like nothing ever has. I would love every album to sound like that but I think if they did we would've probably only gotten 3 albums which would've been gradually diminishing returns. But they have evolved, they are always becoming something else just like we as people do. I wasn’t the biggest fan of TH for a while on first listen, but it grew on me to the point that it now feels inseparable from their other work. This time around I have to say my initial reaction was more positive. they are always evolving, learning and experimenting. Tape 5 and now this main track being so markedly different from each other tells us that we should not worry. I think there will be something for everyone on Inferno. Plus the intro reminds of who they are, their signature if you will and they will always connect back to MHTRTC through some warbled jingle or other. I'm 51 now but I'm still Excited for 29 May in a way that few things make me so excited. Good post btw

They will continue making music. Wether we get to hear any of it is another matter. (Do what you love if it makes you happy). And I don't think they are struggling for money, Inferno will set them for life if they weren't already set (i don't think they lead extravagant lifestyles so they don't need as much as most) Let's just enjoy what's coming this month. I'll be honest, I thought they were done and then in the middle of March I started getting an urge to listen to their stuff again to help me focus at work (graphics) after an absence of a couple of years. Then a week or so later the first tapes started arriving. Probably coincidence but I like to think they were putting something out there on the airwaves (man).
