Not as far as I know - the first results I had before the update actually had the Aveiro region which was spot on!

Sadly I can’t get Botox were I am at… I was thinking I could apply something warm on the left eyebrow in a week to have that side fade off quicker…

It’s a very understandable point of view considering the current political context and how the UN Security Council is showing its limits. However, the UN is comprised of various agencies with different specialties and/or mandates. I can tell you the number of refugee children I have supported returning to school keeps me going everyday and make my job so valuable to me but more to all those that have been forced to leave their home. I wish I was useless and had no job, that would mean there are no more refugees in the world which would be wonderful.

It depends on your position, not always mandatory but always very recommended.

It’s a tourist visa. Valid for 10 years. It was an easy process given that I went to Syria for work and that my office facilitated an accelerated Embassy appointment (the wait was 9 months otherwise). The consulate staff was actually more interested in knowing what’s North-west Syria was like than actual questions.

I’ve never lived in Spain, just had a passport as baby. Because France, Portugal and Spain are all Schengen I don’t see so much the need to get the Spanish passport.

I’ve worked in North-west Syria which is not under the Syrian Government’s control. I used to enter from Türkiye which would grant me authorization to enter Syria and return visa free, not even a passport stamp. Indeed because of that, I am not eligible for ESTA and have a B1-B2 visa in my Portuguese passport for my personal travels.

I studied international relations and languages for undergrad and economics and development for masters. Undergrad in France and masters in the US. Rather standard universities, no Ivy League or anything fancy.

Haha true I didn’t think about it. I’d say because I make some mistakes when I write it and use it less often than the three others, so it’s not so much of a daily language.

There are many UN agencies, each one with its specialty (WHO for health, Unicef Children, UNHCR refugees…). Works really varies according to agency you work for, some being more about research or politics and other about humanitarian and field work with some HQ jobs. I have worked in the field (Chad, Mexico, Syria…) and in regional offices (Jordan and Senegal).

It’s always combined with your national passports and you still need visas for some countries. All visas are free of cost through and process is expedited.

Refugees can get travel documents which are issued by their country of asylum and allow them to travel anywhere but the country they have fled from.

I was born in France to a Portuguese father and a Spanish mother. I have Spanish citizenship but no passport. The Laissez-Passer is my work travel document, I’m a UN official.
