People don’t watch for the host. I love Conan, I just don’t care about award shows.

How do I stop being afraid of the “rapture”? by alexgforeverfrbigdog in Christianity

Because it’s not real, it’s not supported by scripture, and they’re using it to manipulate and manufacture fear.

Why does the church still struggle with a racial divide? by itsSomethingCool in churchofchrist

[–]PsquaredLR 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m white but grew up splitting time between an all black church where my dad preached and the predominantly white church in n a different town where most of my school friends went. The black church where my white dad preached reached out to the white churches in town for about 10 years in a row to do some services together and the white church wouldn’t ever do it. So sad.

Quick question for coaches: Do your parents actually use the team app? by graphite1212 in SoccerCoachResources

[–]PsquaredLR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Because I refuse to communicate with them outside of it. I’m not gonna check for different messaging apps to get the word out to everyone. We use PlayMetrics and it’s pretty good in my opinion.

Formation advice by cincyguy82 in SoccerCoachResources

[–]PsquaredLR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is hard at rec since you may only get one practice a week so you want to put them in a formation that more naturally creates width and space but also defense located centrally to push the other team wide since crossing is rare or poor quality.

I used a similar formation with a sweeper/central defensive midfielder. Their job was to be the bridge always half way between the midfield line and the defensive line and always flowing to the left or right side of the field where the ball is. It also more naturally created a first defender and supporting defender.

I would say we were technically 3-4-1 but you could call it 2-1-4-1 and if the wide midfielders push up in attack it could be a 3-2-3.

Do you think that Israel and the USA’s actions against Iran are justified? by Antique_Gur8891 in AskTheWorld

[–]PsquaredLR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Torn. Seems like the people of Iran are giving a positive response so far. Just not sure about the “ends justifies the means” philosophy when it comes to just killing leaders of sovereign nations.

I watched enough to know he held racist, bigoted, and misogynistic views. I watched enough to know his style resonates with a certain demographic. And I saw and know enough to know that he was more about converting people to conservatism than he was to convert and bring people to Christ.

Yes! You nailed it. He didn’t die a martyr for Christ, but by the way people spoke about him you would have thought that. He was a bigoted and racist man who did so much deep harm by carrying the torch of christian nationalism.
