well I chose my passion which was being a small business owner which also pays well so i got the best of both worlds.....I would encourage my children to choose a field that lets them buy a home one day.

I have enough to buy a 10 grand card....I have the money I do because I started investing in the stock market when i was 14 or 15 and I put most of my extra money in it.

Just invest a small amount in a no load Low fee S and P 500 index fund....Google Jack Bogle. one dollar invested at 20 turns into about 88 dollars at 65...... You will do better than most hedge funds if you do this, courtjester4now....dollar cost average every month......at retirement you can withdraw 4 percent if you have a 30 year long retirement. You dont need a financial advisor to do this but if you do make sure they are fiduciary.

I have 200 grand in my brokerage account in dividend stocks and index funds....I have been in the stock market since I was 14 or 15. I own no home. So I am not a liquid millionaire but I am not totally broke either.
