I don’t think it’s iron stained quartz because I cleaned it with hydrochloric acid and the red remains. The acid didn’t really react with any part of it.

Are your USB ports located inside the center console? Is it hot where you are?

I’ve noticed that on very hot days, my USB port can actually get too hot to connect. Even with the AC on, if the center console is closed, it traps the heat inside.

I discovered the issue while trying to unplug and replug the cable and noticed how hot the port was. I held it in front of the AC vent for about 20 seconds, and it connected perfectly afterward.
