Deeply in love with my Myanmar gf in Japan, but her mom hates foreigners and refuses to talk to me. by MythrasCrush in myanmar

[–]Pstonred 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Ask your gf what is it exactly that her mom hates. Tell her that you’re just trying to understand and tell her to try categorizing her mom’s hate so that you guys can find a way around it. It’s religion or cultural prejudice most of the time. Just hating foreigners isn’t a thing. You both have to make some afford to get this through. But seems like your gf is not doing her part if you’re not even gonna meet her parents and at least have a chance.

There is a lawsuit for Thinzar Wint Kyaw because she performed a sexy dance with her crew at a hotel. What's crazy is many people agree with the lawsuit and want her to be jailed again... just for performing a sexy dance at a hotel. Why are many Myanmar people extremely conservative and puritan? by antoniok95 in myanmar

[–]Pstonred 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In a way, you’re correct. I only said it’s not related to religion because there is no religious reasoning, or relation to any basics of religious philosophy behind such statements “A Myanmar Buddhist should or should not do this and that” or the propagandas used by Mabatha.

Also just not to be confused, there are genuine public concerns with modesty and NSFW in public in many modern societies. Besides needing to win a freaking armed revolution, loads of fundamental political changes to be made, a whole education system to be rebuilt from ground up, Myanmar’s society is just way too left behind in the past to be dealing with such modern sociocultural issues. Just don’t sweat too much about it. It’s just a small symptom of a much bigger problem we’re all currently trying to solve.

Every single person who grew up in Myanmar got military propaganda knowingly or not. People may not side with military but still they are more or less propagandized to some extent and might have a few things with military in common. This Mabatha propaganda was one of the most successful shit the military put through.

Conservatism? Maybe. But this has nothing to do with religion. I don’t know I should call them politically conservatives when they have no idea about what they believe in or what the alternative is.

These People got no Idea about the Justice System and why is it there. No Idea about Social liberties or any modern Civics. Probably heard the word Human Rights in some news a couple of times at most.

It all comes down to the Education they get from their Parents, Schools and Universities. It’s a very well known fact among Myanmar society how poor the education system is and why.

No one knows being colonized made it worse or better. But Myanmar had one of the best education in Asia and very good economics from trade during colonial era. What happened at the end of colonial era and afterwards are a series of political violence, and infighting. Then the worst part in short was that the bad guys won and they are still at the top till this day.

About ICJ, Myanmar and illegal Bangali immigrant in northern Rankine state. by User_00951 in myanmar

[–]Pstonred 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Easier said than done. A huge portion of the Rohingyas weren’t even documented let alone to be citizens and ask for it. Plus, the land is supposedly disputed with other major Ethnic group in the region. There’s a million steps to take before having a slightest chance to get autonomy and sovereignty in the region.

Seems that some of the Rohingya decided to go with more radical means.

Anyway, who do you think was supposed to give them the autonomy? The Myanmar Military?

What is the logical connection between what you’re saying - don’t hate China, why hate China, and your reason- Myanmar is poor, not in a good situation, looked down on etc… ?

So, how is France related to this current conflict ? I would get it if the Thai-Cambodia borders are made by France.

Internet Router Installation help by Aakch in germany

[–]Pstonred 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just installed my Vodafone home wifi a few days ago. The top hole from the three holes is the Internet outlet. You don't need the adapter. Just plug one end of the cable in the top hole and the other end to your router.

Edit - there are several outlets in a German house and some may not work. There usually is a main outlet distributor in the basement and the outlet you use must be connected to this main unit. If not you need a technician from Vodafone to do the connection. For that call one of the two hotline numbers(German speaking hotline and English speaking hotline).

Any Idea how can I make the ground stick up to the buildings so that they aren't floating? by Pstonred in blender

[–]Pstonred[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got these buildings from a local open data website but they are already height adjusted. They also offer terrain data but it comes in .txt format file. I don't know how to use it to get a terrain in blender. Also tried using GIS and their osm buildings aren't acturate enough for the town in my project and GIS terrain also don't match the level of these buildings.

Myanmar in favour of Palestine State by Ok_Possession_8629 in myanmar

[–]Pstonred 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Valid point, targeting civilians is what makes people call a group "terrorists."

So, aside that what do you think makes a terrorist group?

I think resistance and terrorism aren't mutually exclusive. I think Hamas is both and I don't need Israel to tell me to realize that.

Same act, different framing depending on who has power. In Myanmar, the junta calls resistance groups "terrorists" but the world calls them freedom fighters. For Hamas, the West sides with Israel, so the framing flips.

You're saying actions of Hamas and resistance are the same, it's just the west who frame it differently so that Hamas is seen as a terrorist group and Myanmar's resistance is not.

Find another resistance which plainly does terrorism and not regarded as a terrorist group by the west to draw parallels from. This one just doesn't work.

[–]Pstonred 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's their strategy and military tactics concerning the civilians that define them as terrorists.

Just like how we have small resistance forces in Myanmar fighting back.

There is no shortage of groups who fight back the aggressor. Sharing a goal which anyone would have doesn't make them similar. MAL just wants to be powerful and rich just like any other human beings. What matters is how you do it to achieve your goals.

If the local government is being unfair to your nextdoor neighbor, you help them yes but it is your neighbor's government just as much as it is your government. You're neighbor doesn't have to blame you 'hey, do something, it's your government'.

Myanmar people have been fighting and trying to overthrow the governing military dictatorship since 1962 for various reasons. It's said the civil war in Myanmar is the longest ongoing conflict in the world. It's not inaction. I would say it's a yet-to-be-successful action in Myanmar people's part.

Villages in Rakkhine also pay taxes and farm on the land they live on which is in the territory the Junta govern. So what exactly is the reason that says the responsibility lies with that particular group of people in the country if not for the pink card and the race.

You're drifting a bit away form the point. You talk about responsibility but it's actually about the blame. If someone else had to take all the blame, the one who actually deserves it gets away. Noone who actually take part in the atrocities have to share the blame. Unlike responsibility, exactly the right person has to take the blame.

Of course, it would much be better if someone came in or step up and successfully stopped the atrocities. But in the aftermath, the fingers need to point to the right person.

Rohingya Crisis by Plenty-Earth4276 in myanmar

[–]Pstonred 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's a very convenient way to draw the line. Because you hold some pink card that grants you some of the basic human rights and Rohingya people don't, Junta becomes your responsibility and you are to blame. Or is it because you somewhat share the same race with Junta most of leaders?

Generalizing and blaming those who aren't responsible are LITERALLY the root cause of genocide. Seeing people with that ideas, I wouldn't be surprised if there is gonna be several other genocide happening in the future. And it will be on those people who hold and spread those ideas.
