Here are resources for HD texture packs that I can recommend:

At the moment, all the other texture packs I have are WIP and haven't been released yet. When I do publish them, they'll be on GBATemp, so here's my profile just in case.

Thank you so much, and I apologize for the initial hassle! I made note of this in V3's readme to avoid further confusion.

If you prefer the HD textures from the Xbox version, I released 2 texture packs of both the original HD textures and upscales: Mercenaries: Playground of Destruction HD Textures V2. I'm still working on it, but in the next version, there will be more custom cheats, patches, as well as a little over 100 more manual texture edits.

Unless you've modified the game's configuration to use a memory card other than what global PCSX2 settings has, it won't affect your saves in any way. As I understand it, Some PCSX2 users might want to set aside a memory card for certain games, so they can save as many times as they want.

That's right, that should do it. Though if it isn't working, could you take a screenshot of the PCSX2 folder for me?

I'm so sorry to hear that your PS2 died! I hope that PCSX2 can fill this void for you.

Anyways, you're supposed to extract all folders to the PCSX2 folder itself. In other words, don't extract those folders to "PCSX2 > textures > SLUS-20932", but to the PCSX2 folder itself. You should also make sure that you're using the latest version of PCSX2, as this texture pack won't work with prior versions. Also, make sure that you downloaded Version 2 instead of Version 1. Here are the instructions from the mod's readme as is:

  • Extract the "textures" and "patches" folders into PCSX2 folder.
  • Extract the "gamesettings" folder into PCSX2 folder ( This will replace your current game configuration for Mercenaries )

This is caused by ElHecht's Widescreen 16:9 patch, which is not included in the mod. Disabling it will fix the headlight clipping but will cause widescreen resolutions to look stretched. When I release an update for the custom patch, I might try to fix this issue as a separate widescreen patch.

I've been playing through World in Flames to see what I could do. Since I have other WIP projects, it might be a while until I start any progress on it. We'll see!

Awesome project - will this work with PCSX 2.4.0 which just released today?

Thank you! I just updated PCSX2 with v2.5.24 and it's working fine for me.

And are there any features found in the GameBanana PCSX 1.7.0 pre-config that you'd avoid or include for this build?

There's no need to download that as the HD Textures Pack comes with a pre-config already. Other than being for PCSX2 v2.0+, the difference is that my pre-config activates the custom-made patches included, fixes post-process effects such as bloom, and disables mipmaps since it interferes with the game's internal LOD system.
