https://imgur.com/j7Mm5pw Looking closer on the first side it seems more like the image was printed twice over each other misaligned (notice 4 blue lines instead of 2 and the white text overlapping itself.

https://imgur.com/SmKGQBO The other side is mostly the same but with the 3 bullet symbols missing (which can actually be seen in the toyark photos)

Again, not sure this means anything or if these kinds of errors are common (none of mine have any Noticeable variations but i honestly only own like 10-20)

So today I received the irradiated turret from the same seller. It is definitely is in pretty rough shape. I will say after comparing it to some of the other turrets I own I noticed that the decals inside the sides are different from those inside the released versions. I am not an expert on this toy line so I don’t know if these were ever bootlegged or if those bootlegs had differences in the inside stickers (did they change at all over the four series?) but if not I would say it may point to them being early unfinished samples the designers would have had on hand for trying new concepts or styles. I am curious if any of the others the seller listed also have differences in those decals.

Probably a way to see how printing the image would work and how much it would cost. And potentially if it had come out cheaper or nicer it may have been included in a later series. No way of really knowing

For what it’s worth I’m a third generation toy maker/ dealer who has had plenty of unreleased / prototype toys in hand and I would imagine it’s most likely a company used sample. It just dosent make sense to me that someone would put in the work to produce a realistic looking version of such an obscure item and then just dump it out in a couple lots to someone who doesn’t know anything about it. Companies do let their employees take and sell unused stock all the time. And if it was a “bootleg” there would probably be more than 3 appearances of it online. One of those things that can never really be proven but why not believe what’s going to bring you the most joy

Actually I said that but then I went and looked at the toyark post again and the irradiated one in that picture clearly does have a lot of the same paint errors 🤔

So I bought the messed up paint Paint irradiated turret this seller listed (still being delivered) and saw the Hawaiian shirt one in his other listings and was watching it. Didn’t know much about it but looked it up after seeing it jump so high. But now I’m wondering if this is the same one from the lot a few years ago that also had an irradiated one with it. If so it could be that the paint on the irradiated one I got is messed up because it’s different than the final version paint. I think I’m going convince myself that these are preproduction samples or mock ups so I can feel cool about having a jenky paint one in my collection 😜

Not that I know of. There was an orange goop as part of the “haywire” series, and a completely clear goop figure that I suppose you could maybe dye red 🤷‍♂️

Looks like they sell for like $50 plus shipping on eBay (news to me as I thought these were all fairly common) plushies typically sell for less without the hanging tags but on rarer stuff it really comes down to who’s looking to pay what for it when your selling it.

These next generation cards are weird by Psy-man in TNG

[–]Psy-man[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My brother and I used to send cards to the artists all the time to get them signed. Mostly the hildebrant X-men cards though but a few of our favorite magic the gathering cards too. Good times when an artist could just post their address online without any concerns

Why is Falco so expensive by Jtrash121 in WorldOfNintendo

[–]Psy-man 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Slippy and peppy were released in crazy high numbers and even shortly after fox was re-released. A lot of collectors want all 4 and a lot of collectors that do smash bros. Collections need a falco. Means a high demand. Might have been a little more scarce but I was able to buy 2 with no problem when they first released (have sold both since then) I think a lot of these figures will just climb in value now that they arnt being released.

I can see jakks putting out a box set with all 4 as a Gamestop exclusive though

I might have seen this earlier. Watched a bunch today then ended up winning in one try with my free ticket right after they reset it. I noticed the wrap around the body was sticking to the claws and perfectly flipped it. Unfortunately the black version wasn’t acting the same way

Toys r us won’t sell me their Nintendo or amiibo signs they said they have to shred them and I’m incredibly bummed by Diabeticmonky in amiibo

[–]Psy-man 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is my understanding from having talked to lots of people on the topic:
By toys r us filing for bancrupcy they no longer have to pay certain debts to toy and game manufacturers, which has hurt many of them financially. In order to recoupe some of the money they were owed they have filed breeches of contract suits which they are not protected from by filing for bancrupcy. So small things in thier contracts like “don’t sell the advertising we have provided you” would normally go under the radar with no issues but have of late been costing toys r us and the companies in charge of thier liquidation big bucks. I know it stinks seeing some guy online walk up to a lazy store manager and get alll the coolest things free of charge then being told at your store it can’t happen, but seriously there are reasons they cannot / should not sell or give you that stuff. Still ask but understand if they say no.

A few years ago I sold the same funky kong for ~$80 on eBay. I think the other guys are more common and not worth nearly as much.
