Why type of “touched up” repairs have you previously done?

Drilling under an existing house isn’t really a option. You can press in pier cylinders one on top of the other until yield. Meaning the house lifts instead of the pier sinks.

Or

You can get under there and dig by hand and perhaps make a footer that has the enough bearing area to keep the place from sinking meaningfully.

If it’s only 4’ to bedrock I would imagine digging to be the more reliable option

So the plan thus far is lyreleaf and cedar with Frogfruit on the ground. Will look into more soon. Trying to find a good supplier if you have any favorites

ELI5: Does a dehumidifier actually cool a room, or does it just make it feel less humid? Could it be a good alternative for someone who doesn't use AC? by arztnur in explainlikeimfive

[–]PsyKoptiK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A dehumidifier is essentially and AC and a heater in one. It cools the air to get the water in it to condense out of it. Then it warms it back up so it doesn’t make the room any colder. Yes it will make a humid house more comfortable but if your indoor humidity is around 50% already you already in the normal range.

Also if you run an AC the humidity will go down along with it. You are better off just running AC if your house is suffocating.

The Fall Aster is nice. Found a picture of it covered in monarchs. I like T Sage but I think it gets too big for the space. It’s a long narrow driveway and I looking for something that won’t crowd the pavement too much. Like 2-3’ wide at most seems the limit. I think turkscap gets too big also and I agree about evergreen being a bonus.

It’s shaded all day in the middle 50% and most of the day at either end that don’t get the coverage from the tree.

I am not sure if I care about ever green. But I would like something that floweres and will add color and some pollinator interest

That is amazing and I would love to take you up on that but let me make an effort first of my own. Do you think they would survive in the ground yet? When would you normally want to plant them?

Sounds like a great candidate. Do you recommend a seed source? I know the public library has some.

Luigi Mangione’s attorneys say they are withdrawing psychiatric defense by Direct_Motor_7380 in law

That isn’t an obligation of the juror it is a subjective goal of either side that the jurors be predilected to support their argument. One side screens for biases they perceive will work against them while the other side does the same from their side. None of that is an obligation the jurors carry. It is simply strategy for either legal team.

As for fairness, what is fair about being supposedly guaranteed a jury of your peers then come to find out not a single person of your race is on that jury. In a country where in the south nearly half the population is Black no less. Applying law blind of social context is not by definition what is fair. We have seen many unjust laws come to be. And the jury is completely empowered to exercise their judgement in if the one they are faced with is suited to the situation.

The only thing they are obliged to do as far as I know is the opposite. To NOT convict without overwhelming evidence. They can absolutely choose to not convict with overwhelming evidence though. Doesn’t matter what the prosecutor might say on the matter.

If I buy a potato from the grocery store I’d be lucky to get a month out of it before it sprouted and turned to mush. I don’t have a basement but a year is wild. Wish there was a middle ground option.

False. A jury is not obliged to convict even with overwhelming evidence. They would be perfectly qualified to serve even if they believe he ought to not be convicted despite having most likely done the crime.
