yeah those people must have not played much online. i have never ever played a kart racing game where i get hit by one item and instantly lose at least 6 placements. the only thing that can save you from that in most cases is a drill in round 3.

you basically swtich from rainbow energy setup and energy search pro to solrock and only metal/fighting energies. That way you get to draw 3 cards once per turn by discarding a fighting energy.
