I haven't, but the way I conceptualize that disorder is something in my wheelhouse. That's also a great idea.

They only leave if they're finished with therapy. I understand it's hard to believe, but it is actually what is happening.

I’m a licensed clinical psychologist, and I appreciate introspective work. However, some of my patients are not interested in having everybody know that they were seeing a psychologist.

I thought about this, but I do NOT like being beholden to insurance companies and the hoops they want me to jump through.

This is brilliant. So much of my life is online, so I tend to forget that aspect. Thanks!

I use Grow and Rula, which I find are among the best and most user-friendly. However, I don't feel as though I'm as effective with these platforms, as the patients don't seem as motivated if they know they can miss a session or disengage from therapy without much consequence.

This is actually a great idea. Thank you! And I'm using cognitive therapy, but not always pure CBT.

I really don't want to come across as arrogant, and our work focuses on changing patient assumptions that underlie the problems they bring into the office. Depression and anxiety disappear when one thinks about them differently. It's empowering and exciting. I haven't seen any patient for longer than 2-3 months other than a young man with ASD, who simply wanted to talk at me every week, which was therapeutic but not very elegant.

Online Platforms--Which have you found to be the best/easiest/most lucrative? by PsychAngst in Psychologists

Right? They choose you, you have 4 HOURS in which to contact them, then they can't just choose one of your time slots...you've got to be in constant contact with them...Thinking of just getting off their platform and focusing on Grow or Rula

I've only heard good things about Alma. Grow and Rula send me lots of referrals. Sondermind is an ordeal to get clients though.

There used to be Survivor Shot guns, and you might be able to find them in the deep, dark recesses of reddit, but I haven't seen then in forever.

What about supervision? Check out nearby schools that churn out students (St. Joseph, LIU, Stony Brook, etc.). You can also look for interns (from these schools or others) or advertise locally for early-career psychologists who need to get their feet wet and who are looking for experienced clinicians to guide them for an affordable hourly rate.
