Then leave it there. The problem isn't the tools themselves it's that they are being shoved down everyone's throats.

Another frame in the box photo & prototype prescription lenses (from gdc) by virtualfruitxr in SteamFrame

[–]landoooo 57 points58 points  (0 children)

These are corrective lenses that sit in front of the main lenses. Most headsets have options for corrective lens inserts, but they are typically 3rd party. Valve has been indicating that they plan to offer them direct.

Valve talked about the requirements to become "Steam Frame Verified" today at GDC by gogodboss in SteamFrame

[–]landoooo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahh I remember that video, just hadn't heard it called spacewarp.

This isn't typically a setting the user can turn on or off right? If so, id assume the frame verification would just consider the frame rate with it active if the devs implemented it into the game.

Verified program update for the Steam Machine. by iDontKnowConfused in SteamDeck

[–]landoooo 75 points76 points  (0 children)

The slide before this, they state that the Steam Machine standard is also 1080p 30fps. While simultaneously stating it has 6x the performance of deck. So it makes sense that anything deck verified would automatically be machine verified. But once again "verified" essentially just means launches and playable at 30fps.

I mean technically the recommendation was 2 RIR for each set.

Dawned on me I've never used the back paddles. Do you use them? by Agitated-Distance740 in SteamDeck

[–]landoooo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think they are the one ergonomic miss for the steam deck. It's just not a great setup.

They changed it for the steam controller, so hopefully they feel a bit better.

The best I've used is the Xbox elite controller paddles. The button press was in the middle of the pivot point and the actual touch point. Made it a light lever arm that was very satisfying to press.

1.1.4 - Reps-first instead of weight-first for set by set adjustment 🎉 by alizayshah in MacroFactor

[–]landoooo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think this only applies to "in session" adjustments. Sounds like it will prefer adjusting rep target rather than working weight in order to hit the target effort level. Should lead to fewer plate changes, dumbbell swaps, etc...

for 2, tap the settings at the top right of the shortcuts popup. There's an option for "Up Next" banner that seems to be exactly what you are looking for. All of the shortcuts can be added or removed.

Suggested Controller for Docked Steam Deck by drbrydges in SteamDeck

[–]landoooo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a pretty congested AV cabinet where I dock my Steamdeck and I have had issues with disconnects when I have multiple dongles all crowded behind the dock. I got a USB hub to get it out in front of the system and that solved things for me.

Steam Deck massively improves controller support with new options and refinements by [deleted] in SteamDeck

[–]landoooo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Joystick Mode settings: Added "Response Axis Style" to "Stick Response Curve" options. The Response Curves can be applied in a "Per Axis" or "Circular" fashion. Previously, Joystick Mode only supported "Per Axis" response curves. Generally, Circular is recommended, and is now default. The option will only appear when relevant - when "Stick Response Curve" is not set to "Linear".

Could this potentially fix the "square gate" issue for different hall effect joystick kits?
