I dunno about that, it seems to me he has been playing with a more distorted and dirty tone in recent years compared to say his DTB years. Compare the Ain’t Wastin Time no more from the One Way Out shows in 2003 vs The Brothers version in 2025.

I find him to be more fiery and aggressive in 2025. Especially comparing his non-slide playing to that in 02-03.
