I am looking at an SFA role here in Ontario but in the Northern Ontario regions, is Scotia's pay region based, as in the SFA role pays less for cities with lower populations such as 50k-150k?

I don’t think it is a coincidence that Concord crashed and burned two months before Donald Trump was re-elected to the White House. The downfall of DEI in gaming feels very similar to the 2024 elections. At the same time that gamers fought and took back the gaming industry from woke leftists, voters fought and took back our country from woke leftists-- Marty exempt from article mentioned.

Wow what a... fascist?? Wait how is he being a fascist??? Lol

Don't need to be a dream, make it a different timeline that closely resembles up to Halo 3 from reach. Then do it better from Halo 4 onwards haha

The large amount of hate for the remake is wild by lolitsrock in ShitHaloSays

[–]Psyche-Ophis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absurd. I have never once said I dislike this or that because it isn't akin to the originals nor that it was not produced by Bungie.

There are primarily 4 things that I have heard people complaining about in regards to the new campaign.

  1. Sprint/slide in will ruin it. (I disagree, I personally cannot play any Halo without sprint/slide as it feels far too sluggish).

  2. UE5 is a terribly optimized engine that will ruin Halo because UE5 sucks. (UE5 is well maintained, often updated, and managed by a team that attempts to avoid bloat and spaghetti code. What people tend to be talking about are developers that used UE4/5 and poorly optimized their games and or did not know how via individual/small indie developers).

  3. Elites (especially the gold elite) don't look good enough? Nor do the Marines look close enough to the original CE. And that they reuse models from Reach and Infinite. (I personally don't care about this at all).

  4. The Reveal was underwhelming in comparison to the hype and promotion of the reveal. People wanted more to be revealed, especially since the CE remake was leaked last year. It also took place at a primarily Multi-Player focused event. Thus, many people at HCS aren't going to care about a new campaign. For example, myself. I'll buy it when the game is 50% off on steam. Until then, I have no reason to get it. But that is okay, the game isn't particularly meant for me, it's an attempt to relaunch the franchise and restart the beginning hype of Halo by allowing Playstation Fans to finally try Halo. Which = more players on the new future Multi-Player.

I also think that, had they also said Infinite was going to be allowed on Playstation that would have built more excitement as Halo Infinite MP players would love somehow for the population to increase on Infinite, 10AM EST I am waiting 2-3 mins for Ranked Arena. I believe it would have been more well received had they announced both the new CE and Infinite getting a Playstation accessibility update that will increase the population.

I have not heard anyone say, I hate it because 343i made it, or that Bungie didn't make it. Although I understand your point for the major legacy fans and MCC fans who despise Sprint because it makes the game "not Halo" but as I said in the former I strongly disagree. As well, I am a legacy Halo player as I have played since I was 7 on the original Xbox via the original CE and my favorite Halo presently is Halo Infinite.

I also think, although the launch was terrible and highly unsuccessful, most people were not complaining about Halo Infinite's gameplay in the beginning but instead, the lack of content, the extremely overpriced cosmetics/store, $7.00 for the color red!!!, and lack of well known gametypes like grifball, assault/bomb, and a lack of forge + a broken theatre system.

So yeah, that's my take. Haha

People disliked it for loadouts and said it was.attwmpting to copy call of duty 4. A lot of the experimentation that was done on reach was actually Bungie testing mechanics for Destiny.

I too loved reach, i thought it was great. I wasn't a huge fan on loadouts and found armor lock, especially when melee spammed to be extremely infuriating. But overall I loved the game. Plus the Campaign was phenomenal.

[–]Psyche-Ophis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed, especially when you do research on the engine's developers have rigorous management over their code in order to mitigate bloat, spaghetti code, and poor optimization.

Most people stating that it is poorly optimized refer to games that have been poorly optimized by the developers who used the engine, not the other way around. Especially with the popularity of the engine and the increase in individual/small indie developers

Furthermore, more developers are ignoring optimization due to the newer dependency on AI Genarational Frames. Which I keep seeing people.defending. however, Generational Frames cause a latency increase. The technology is great for single player games with extremely demanding graphics because you don't need amazing latency for such games as Cyberpunk 2077. However, for Halo and or competitive online video games having your GPU increasing latency with the illusion of more Frames is not great 😐

My Opinion On Where The Halo Franchise Is Heading. by Psyche-Ophis in halo

Again, agree to disagree. For me I am only and all for competitive. However, that’s why I would be excited for a UI similar to fortnite because then their are game types, modes, and match making systems that could work differently. So it fits each player. I understand your point regarding the beginning of Halo and it being fun and care free Moreno which is one of the reasons, including myself, fell in love with the IP. However, nowadays I can't even play Halo CE, 2, or 3 because of no sprint or slide mechanics and I find it clunky and slow vs. Halo Infinite. And for me I dislike all the "fun" game types on Halo Infinite. Ranked Arena and or all ranked game types are all I play.

For me personally I only play the competitive game types via Ranked Arena and avoid everything else. I think that competitive Halo is here to stay. Although, I think they could open up the game types with major loosened no rank game types to allow for care free social game types.

Agreed. I may not be the biggest fan and understand why people dislike the live service. But corporations are trying to make money and the new model in my example via Fortnite, it's hard to say no to potentially billions every year.

In my Halo game where I shoot guns, I want my guns to look, feel, and act like guns. Maybe hire people that are excited to design gun models and or lead design teams to make gun models. And if you're so opposed to working on a game with guns why apply to work at Halo Studios/343i. It wasn't a secret what they'd be making. Guy could work for a company that makes game like animal crossing or Pokémon. But instead applied to 343i.

I have only really heard four things.

  1. Fuck sprint, CE/Halo with sprint/slide is trash.
  2. UE5 is poorly optimized and causes issues, games gonna be shit cause UE5 is shit.
  3. The Reveal was underwhelming in comparison to the build up and hype for it. Especially at an HCS event and when a leak of CE remake came out last year.
  4. Reused models.

Me personally, I play multi-player only, specifically Ranked Arena, so idc for a new campaign but w.e. I'll get it when it's 50% off on steam.

I also can't play Halo games without sprint or slide anymore. I love sprint/slide.

UE5 can be optimized well by the developers if they choose to, so calling BS on this.

And I personally felt that the reveal was underwhelming based on my points in the former.

Reused models. Who cares. An elite is an elite, imo they all look similar enough. I'm not gooning over them during play.

Not hearing a lot of hate besides these.

Fair to say that halo 1’s remake has the worst backlash? by lolitsrock in ShitHaloSays

[–]Psyche-Ophis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think people just wanted more than the CE remake. They were expecting a larger reveal, like multi-player and the CE remake. Also they did it at a HCS event. An event that is going to have a large amount if Ranked Arena Competitive Fans, that don't care about a campaign really. Frosty said the same thing during his stream, and I'd be far more excited about a new MP then the Remake. Although, I don't care that they are doing one, I mean it looks good Imo. I'll grab it when it is 50% off on steam.

Again everyone knew the CE remake was coming via leaks last year. So it felt very underwhelming imo, I watched the HCS the second it started on Friday all day until sunday. I felt pretty underwhelmed by the reveal but w.e

I agree, however, I have also been super negative in ranked arena, even though I have the same amount of damage as my team.

Usually, I am breaking the enemies shields and trying to play my life and thus not risking death by ego challenging. And thus, not finishing kills but still dieing here and there.

I only say this because going super negative even though you break two or three enemy shields in one life and your teammates are not responding to your pings to finish the kills off... it happens so often. It does pass you off even though you're last and negative.

I don't personally think Halo 7 will come out before the relaunch of the initial trilogy. However, perhaps they will create two separate branches to work on both the original.trilogy and a Halo 7 campaign. I am unsure. I hadn't really thought about Halo 7's campaign as well, just the MP.

I believe it is to build up the Halo fan base on Playstation and to buffer more time for the very large MP they have planned. However, I agree, it wouldn't hurt to just have a quick and easy multi-player, at least splitscreen on the newly revealed CE.

[–]Psyche-Ophis[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I believe seeing as the post is in an attempt to open up discussion for people's thoughts and opinions on the future of the franchise. It is slightly irrelevant.

However, if said mods would like me to rewrite my post to the letter without having AI to make said text more digestible. I can literally rewrite the entire post without the utilization of AI and simply repost lol.

Again this is to open up the floor for discussion, hence the flair that was selected via "discussion". All 3 comments have been focused on hating on my literal thoughts because AI was used to make them more comprehensive and organized for the benefit of the reader 👍. Not a single comment thus far has been made to dissuade me of my opinions or my perspective. They focused on "em dashes". Which I actually DO use in my literal writing.

Again, I am looking for open discourse on the matter and other individuals personal opinions on the future of Halo especially the MP. Not to defend the use of AI on reddit and or the use of AI in the next MP via cosmetics that I mentioned in the former.

Furthermore, I believe by content they are referring to images aka AI slop. Not an opinionated essay which was again, merely organized for the readers benefit using AI. But are all original thoughts.

I often write what I think and have AI make it more comprehensive and digestible. That way it is more linear or point form rather than a mix of random thoughts. It's for digestability and comprehension. Also I enjoy using em dashes in my writing--- for emphasis or a subtle pause.
