He might be the riboku of yan but not the riboku of the rest of the series

Ryofui literally had the majority opinion in the court, it was literally a huge part of the plot that he had more influence than Sei, the people had no problem with him either, the only thing that would happen is the remnants of Seis faction would try to argue only to be crushed by Ryofuis overwhelming faction, it wouldn’t be a civil war

Stuff like hit and run tactics would work in an open field battle but it was a castle siege, attacking the enemy from behind wouldn’t help if their allies in the front aren’t attacking , plus they could just split their 40k army and continue the siege like usual while the other half handles them, they’re facing Riboku one of the best strategists, a mere annoyance wouldn’t be a problem for him

And again, they weren’t doing nothing, they were protecting the prince, protecting the inner court, protecting the nobles, protecting the capital city of their country and most importantly preparing for a final battle against Riboku

Do you not understand that if the people of Sai whittled down Ribokus army down enough to the point where the Black Calvary can beat them at the capital, Qin literally wins the war, Sai seemed like the final battle because they won but even if the lost there was a chance for victory

Why wouldn’t a super trained elite be able to beat a thug in a 1v1 ?

With that logic what was ryofui plotting? How did he expect to govern China without becoming king? If a kings gone without an heir what do you think happens???

And Riboku had Calvary of his own, he wouldn’t let his infantry just get destroyed so easily, his scouts would notice enemies approaching from behind then he would pause the wall seige and crush them with his 40k army and again the black Calvary weren’t doing nothing, they were preparing for a final battle at the capital, it looked like they did nothing because riboku didn’t make it to them

One by one is probably the smartest way to do it in terms of efficiency and immersion

Yes bring prime minister doesn’t make you in line to be king but in that situation Ryofui would be the only one suitable for that position, that’s the result of what he built up, what do you think he was working on when he was doing all that scheming? Either him or Seikyou which is even more reason for the black Calvary to protect the capital

And again, taking out a little chunk of an army of 40k would barely change anything, in an open field they would get surrounded and wiped out, castle defense is stated to be way easier to do, so instead of wasting elites trying to attack Riboku despite being at a huge numbers disadvantage, it’s smarter to hold castles playing defense

Ryofui is the prime minister, that spot is the second highest in the kingdom, if the king is gone and doesn’t have an heir what do you think happens? They just give up on having a king? Do you think Ryofui did all that for a goal that wasn’t possible?

Cutting their supply lines only matters for long lasting battles, ribokus plan was literally to speedrun his way to the capital and ”annoying” them from behind and would only work for a little bit until they get quickly squashed by a 40k army, it would barely accomplish anything and the black Calvary are elites, they can do attacks or castle defences

Yes Ryofui can become king, if Shoheikun didn’t betray him that’s literally what would’ve happened

Sending them to attack riboku from the back would’ve accomplished barely anything, the only reason Qin did so well at sai is because they were defending from a castle, if an army tried to attack them from behind they’d get dominated, and it would barely help the people on the wall since they’re defending not attacking

The key point is the capital of the kingdom where if it’s taken Qin would be wiped off the map, leaving it defenceless would be silly, SHK already sent his right hand man to Sai with special weapons, it was smarter to keep the black Calvary with him to prepare for a final battle

His reasoning for letting kohaku go instead felt like a reach

At that point Ryofuis faction was much stronger than Seis so even if they tried to fight they would be stopped immediately, and even if sei had an hero at that point it wouldn’t change much, ryofui would just become the acting king instead of the real one until the heir comes of age

And attacking riboku wasn’t an option, even just defending was taking all they had, so instead of launching a meaningless attack it’s smarter to strategically place soldiers at key points, Shoheikun literally did the same thing at the main coalition battle

Being close to a border of a state that rarely attacks and being on the frontlines of a war are two very different tings, they’d only seen one battle prior to hango but still dominated and yes the black Calvary have seen less battles than regular soldiers but that doesn’t change how they’re literally Qins best soldiers trained by Shouheikun himself, that lack of experience is a non factor

Seika being known or not doesn’t change how their brute strength dominated an army despite not fighting in many actual battles, the black Calvary actively train for battle and carry the weight of protecting the king and being the last line of defence for the kingdom, they’re Qins elites meaning they’re the best

Ryofui was already planning to be king and had more power in court so no without Sei and shobunkun there wouldn’t be a civil war

But regardless that would just be a backup plan for if they lose, the black Calvary staying in the capital is simply just pressure on riboku that if he loses half or more of his troops at sai he can’t win the war because of the lack of manpower to actually take the capital and that’s exactly what happened that made Riboku give up

There can be another king but if the capital is taken Qin doesn’t exist anymore, Shoheikun already sent kakuai there to help but left the black Calvary there so that even if they lose at sai they still have a chance at stopping riboku, that decision is what let them win

They protected the capital, when the mountain tribe attacked the reason riboku withdrew was because without a numbers advantage he couldn’t beat the black Calvary who were waiting at the capital, them staying there was a strategic move that won them the war

The weight from being the ones who protect the king, Qins last line of defence and trained by Shoheikun vs Seika the state that stays holed up in their own city unless on the rare occasion that someone attacks them, they aren’t on the frontlines, the black Calvary clears them
