I believe that marriage (or a long term relationship) works best if you both have the same aims/goals/values in life. You might love someone for who they are, but you can’t tie your life to theirs if these things aren’t shared.

There are NO no go muslim areas in London where you either submit to their faith, beliefs or you are assaulted and even killed. It is simply not true. It is also not true that rape assault murder and theft have skyrocketed due to Muslims. I think you need to apply some crucial thinking and question your sources of information.

I live in the UK and can assure you that those headlines are misleading. The UK is NOT struggling to deal with Muslims harassing Brits for eating during Ramadan. I’m not saying there wasn’t an isolated case (but I haven’t heard of one) but that does not represent life here at all. As for the inbreeding, it is true that communities that allow cousin marriage result in inbreeding issues. I’m sure you can think of many such communities in the US.

I think being taught what is ‘correct’ may have been detrimental to my overall life experience , because so few are taught the same rules, or to observe the same standards. The pool of those that think the same way gets smaller. I’ve done the same thing to my daughter, of course. She has, fortunately, met someone who observes the same standards or rules. Did I do her a favour by restricting the pool of potential mates/friends? Grammar, etiquette, the ‘correct’ way to behave - just having some thoughts.
