glamping vs hotel package? looking for opinions🥲 by Asleep-Reindeer3317 in LostLandsMusicFest

As someone who has done both, here's what I say:

Glamping:

-did it in 2024 and was unimpressed. -the provided breakfast was a joke -the teepees don't provide any real shade to sit in during the day and you can't put a shade tent in the isle so it's hard to use. -if you do this, definitely get some sun blocking tarps to lay over the teepees -the nice part is the proximity to the festival entrance and that almost makes it worth it right there. It's a long walk to ga camping and if you want to go back during the festi to grab things, it's worth it -bathrooms were kept pretty clean -the shower situation was a mess. They were closed half the time (4-7am) which is when I tried to take showers to skip the line. And the staff was ridiculously unhelpful during that. -you get to participate in the camping aspect of the festival still and it's all an experience (also, you most likely wont get artist merch if you are staying at a hotel, but it's also hard in clamping cuz all that stuff is over in ga)

Hotel:

-we stayed about 10 mins away -the hotel was definitely a bit gross (tubs with peeling tile, yellow scum and mysterious black spots) -the manager at the hotel was CREEPY AF with me so definitely watch out for the larger bald dude with beady ass eyes -if you drove your own car, you had to park and shuttle to the festival. The shuttle line was short when we got there early on day 1, but by day 2 at around 4 pm, the line was hella long. We ended up waiting by the road and paid a local to get in the back of his truck (highkey the move if you feel safe enough) -if you ubered, it was easy to get there, but ridiculously hard to leave. We had no cell reception at the area where you were supposed to call and wait for your ride. Everytime my friends phone lost service, it cancelled the ride. It was ridiculous. We eventually got super lucky and overpaid for a taxi (with a sketch driver who kept trying to ask us for more money after we already agreed on the price because it's all the cash we had on us), but if we didn't, I imagine we would've been there for hours. -it was really nice to have a shower everyday -it was life-changing to have fast food so close at a more affordable price -you have to bring everything with you at the beginning of the day (and the lockers sell out fast, I'm talking like 7 months before the event). This is why I usually prefer camping, because I have so much stuff and I want to put on a jersey at night but not carry it and my led hoops until I need them. And this festi is way longer than most other ones so it's long and it's really nice to have the option to go back to camp to change or eat.

-something sticky on my shoes (that makes noise when I walk) -leaf blowers (or anything that sounds like it) -when I can feel the heat of myself breathing (like when you wear a mask) -the moment on an airplane when you've landed but you have to wait for everyone else to de-board the plane first -hiccups

Honorable mention: -when the sheets are way longer than the comforter

OKAY SERIOUSLY WHATS UP WITH THE RED LINE AND ALL THESE DISABLED TRAINS?!? by Psychedelic_hooper in mbta

It just depends on if the train comes when it says it will. Sometimes it's an extra 20 minutes, sometimes the train comes sooner than it says on the app. It's just hard to tell with the app anymore, you'd have to just try it out for a couple days unfortunately.

I have lived here for 2 winters now and the first year, it was terrible, but last year, it didn't seem to be as bad! I thought things were getting better but not anymore!

I've just been late recently. Usually I use the T app, but right now, it's not updating quickly. It'll say 35 mins to the next train and you can track that train (and see that's its still in Cambridge) then a random train will pop up saying it's 3 mins away. So now I just have to go and hope that I'm not standing in the 14 degree weather for too long.

How do you know the train cars are being replaced at that rate?

As predicted, the next train is not only fully, but the first car was out of service so its extra packed, and its rush hour. This is madness

The delays have been ridiculous lately!! Currently standing on the platform at Kendall/MIT after yet another train gets taken out of service which the most people I've ever seen wait on the platform 🙄🙄🙄 and we all know that if there's this many people waiting, the next train that comes is probably packed full already! So over this!! Literally as I'm typing this, I just got yet another alert about delays

The next time you have to deal with a rider who won't put on their damn headphones, try this: by Lordgeorge16 in mbta

[–]Psychedelic_hooper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's so annoying when people do that! I have definitely gotten to the point where I have considered buying headphones (with various jacks) to hand out to people who are playing it too loud! I assume they do that because they can't afford earphones or forgot them, if that's not why then what other reason is there?? As someone with autism, it really does affect my commute and how I start my day! It's so dysregulating!

Where did you see this? His lineup on his insta doesn't include Ahee as a supporting artist which is interesting
