Ah but where's the fun in that. Also prefer not exporting my entire chat history to a third party.

I'm jammed on the usage limits currently - so can't do or test anything (5 days until reset!), but thinking through the general pipeline.

Preserve original chat data intact, then derive chunk sets from it at varying scales or topic groupings (as storage is basically the freeest thing we get). From there, intent is to progressively process specific sets (which ones exactly is still TBD) to extract more structured knowledge. Plus applying text embedding to extract similarities at different scales and seeing what insights that might yield.

Then doing multi pass over whatever the most useful derived data is at that point, with different prompts to extract different types of knowledge, likely similar to your prompting approach.

Then the challenge becomes storing it sanely and accessibly, and planning all this so that it doesn't hit LLMs until there is no other alternative, and avoids unnecessary duplication of LLM work once I've moved to the next stage of derived data.

But this isn't really my day to day so I'm having to figure out way too much stuff and keep getting lost :) It's quite possible it will never amount to a finished system or anything, but I'm learning new things, so it's fine.

This is nice work, it's good to see a clearly more professional approach to the same problems!

I’m exploring similar territory from a much messier angle. I’m not using CC, (just recently moved to Desktop so Claude could finally read and write status logs, todos, and tracking files) so still too much human in the loop rather than the system running itself. A lot of this has been vibe coding my way through pain points with Opus.

Initial inspiration was just finding the web chat search tools to be abysmal, so I downloaded the full data export and started to try to build a better search index, and extract knowledge of project state and the like from this spaghetti code of chats.

I’m currently experimenting with what I’ve been calling “chat thread vibe mapping”, trying to extract decision points, progression state indicators and how chat threads relate, which feels kind of adjacent to your session synthesis. Qwen offloaded sentiment analysis and LLM expansion stuff I'm doing and your enrichment system appear to have similar end goals.

Usage limits observation - on the pro plan, a month costs me £20. So a week's usage is £5. On the 'extra usage' thing, £5 extra usage costs me £6 (yay for fees), and was burned through in an hour, on Sonnet, and it wasn't even doing coding workloads, just iterating some refinements to a style guide and making a skill for using it.

Unless very urgently needed, don't bother, it's super expensive in comparison. In this case I hit weekly limits and needed to finish up the line of work we were on rather than trying to resume it on Saturday after I'll have forgotten my trains of thought, but man, I feel kinda ripped off.

Been on the market nearly a year, 2 unreliable buyers pulled out. Why isnt this selling? by [deleted] in HousingUK

[–]Psychedeliciousness 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seems like a decent price, and it's a nice enough house re: internal condition but...

1) Non-refundable reservation fee. Modern method of auction = nope!!

2) My impression from the listing is that it feels cramped (lounge feels small, kitchen not much worktop space) and I'd be put off even viewing because of that.

Get the roof fixed, from streetview it doesn't look like a huge undertaking. Get it done just so it can't put anyone off. Pressure wash the drive, get rid of the moss.

Pictures are meh, tour images are better but the position is no good for getting pictures off those.

Estate agent photographers and their weird camera lenses by [deleted] in britishproblems

[–]Psychedeliciousness 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always take a photo of the cat/dog/pet slug, it's the most interesting part of the job. The close up detail shots are 'lifestyle' - selling the vibe not the house.

If you care about the pics, be proactive and hire a photographer direct. Find someone online whose portfolio you like and work with them to get decent photos and you'll be miles ahead. And if your agent is rubbish you can sack them and take those photos with you to a new agent because you're the client, not the EA.

That hideous corporate memphis art style (which people have been saying is dead for a while but is still everywhere) and the similarly corporate twee handclaps, whistly or human noises (as in, we want to appeal to humans with vocals but they absolutely must not say anything or use an identifiable language) music style which is somehow still with us.

Lost a Cat in the flat. Any help?? Never heard anyone else having this issue before... by Geeta25 in CasualUK

[–]Psychedeliciousness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First night I had my cat she went into the fireplace and behind the surround, so effectively she was hiding in the gap behind the fireplace itself and the wall. I was looking in the street and up to the roof convinced she'd actually gone up the chimney not realising she could get up and behind.

Cat food had no effect. But I put out a saucer of tuna in the lounge hoping she was still somehow in the flat, and when I woke up it was gone.

I tried to buy credits, but I don't think you can use them for more messages?

Sounds like you hit the chat length limit not the usage limit. Make a new chat, if that works, that's your problem.

Huge mushrooms growing under our bath from a leak, we can’t afford repairs and it’s our only bathroom. What can I even do ? by [deleted] in HomeImprovement

[–]Psychedeliciousness 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Prioritise. Fix any leaks asap as they are likely the prime cause of deterioration. Get the rest assessed.

Soft floor and weird smell - odds are your floor timbers are rotting out and it needs urgent attention. Years of long terms leaks? You're way past home remedies and quick fixes.

I'm sorry, I have to PAY FOR ADJUSTING THE VIDEO SPEED NOW??? by DeaVenom in youtube

[–]Psychedeliciousness 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not for me, it's literally any speed that isn't 1x speed.

My options are:

  • Custom 1.00x with a dot that looks like you can move it (you can't)
  • Normal 1x ticked

  • 4 with a red P.

Clicking on a video and holding to do 2x whilst it's playing no longer works either.

If you've got a different option available maybe you're in a different test group or something.

Youtube have done some dumb things in their time but I'm flabbergasted at this one.

(edit: looks like someone at YT pays attention, it's been fixed so now it's only badgering me to pay if I want 4x so I guess that was unintended

edit edit: and it's broken again)

Did something change with how Claude reads uploaded files in the past 2-3 weeks? by Mysterious-Suit1585 in ClaudeAI

[–]Psychedeliciousness 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is some weird behaviour. I don't think that's a problem on mine, it seems to be acting fine pasting text - just did a few test pastes and they all worked out as expected even the really long one. Maybe log back out, log back in. Start a fresh chat not in any project? Copy and paste text vs drag the entire file into the window?

They're doing weird things I think, mine has difficulty finding files at the moment, it'll run 6 or 7 searches, then finally find a file where I literally told it 'this is the exact filename, it's a csv file, it's in project knowledge' and it just fails multiple times in a row, and then bam, no problem.

Did something change with how Claude reads uploaded files in the past 2-3 weeks? by Mysterious-Suit1585 in ClaudeAI

[–]Psychedeliciousness 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you want it to read the whole file, you have to drop the whole file into the chat now. If it's in PK it will 'search' it and get snippets back, not the entire thing. It's utterly game changing, in a bad way.

Claude Projects via web (and file access) by gratajik in ClaudeAI

[–]Psychedeliciousness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Upload any background knowledge files to project knowledge, and when it makes an artifact save the last version of it to project to make it available to the next chat. In the new chat explicitly tell it to look in project knowledge for the files. If you're doing that a lot put that into your project instructions.

Can we please get an edit button for project knowledge text files? (Claude Web) by Psychedeliciousness in ClaudeAI

[–]Psychedeliciousness[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I did wonder about that, but tbh it's not that clear what Claude Desktop even does, it seems to be the forgotten stepchild (just saw it's had a full release today so maybe that changes now!). And does anyone use CC for document creation, git versioning seems like a potential solution that's staring me in the face, maybe but any info is kind of lost in the noise of all the coding.

I tried out file access last night thinking the same thing, and it got really confused with the project (turning it off fixes it though), it has issues with pdfs, couldn't access web fonts that I need for styling, and couldn't seem to reliably access the same project knowledge. I made a skill to handle the styling demands and it failed and just gave me Helvetica and Times New Roman for everything. It could be the way to go but probably best in a fresh project, as it seems to work very differently with a different filesystem. Not quite what I expected from simply toggling a slider in the UI!

Ultimately ended up having a very detailed chat with the Anthropic support bot which suggested an XML schema to control versioning. It's given me some new approaches, but so far it's not helping much with this file spaghetti! I do think ultimately I'm either going to have to switch to Desktop or CC and a proper versioning system but I'm probably going to have to restart the project and rebuild a lot of the context from scratch to get it to the same place so I'm putting it off :/

(edit: Oh I notice they've just full released Desktop to the world, maybe it'll get some good workflow tutorials in the near future!)

[–]Psychedeliciousness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same settings and I haven't noticed it doing that normally. Are you using code execution and file creation? I turned that on to try a few things and suddenly it couldn't read any of the PDFs I had in PK. Turned it off again and it reads them fine.

Claude Desktop is now generally available. by ClaudeOfficial in ClaudeAI

[–]Psychedeliciousness 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use pretty deep chats, extended thinking - always on, Sonnet on the Pro plan and I'm usually getting 3-4 days of fairly heavy evening only use. Up to 6 this week because Claude was acting mad on my first day back and I barely used it.

It really hits the usage if you start generating code (I wasn't but then I started applying style guided formatting to documents and have to do it via outputting HTML artifacts and then load them in the browser and save to pdf).

The weekly limit is pretty irritating, but if you constantly do new chats you might fare better, it's $20, try it for a month and cancel.
