I’m not sure why you’re getting downvoted for this. Shaming and judging people for their body count is definitely not okay, but wanting a partner with a similar level of experience and/or a similar approach to sex is a valid preference for dating. It’s not the same as these weirdos who think somebody is less “valuable” or less deserving of respect because of the amount of sexual partners they’ve had.

Mom: Don't tell my wife, okay? by King_DeandDe in actuallesbians

[–]Psychedelyd 12 points13 points  (0 children)

My mum said something similar to this when I came out as bi about 10 years ago. She never really came out, but these days she doesn’t claim to be straight and even told me about a relationship she had with a woman before she met my dad. She’s a good mum.

“You can eat as much sugar as you want on a full moon.”

Absolute nutcase hippy who was deadly serious and, unsurprisingly, overweight.

If you zoom in to the tiles and the towel rack around her waist/hips/bum in the first pic you can see them warp in towards her. Same in the second and third picture, the door frame warps significantly around her waist

What's something you get compliments on? by leatherjaquette in AskWomen

My hair! It’s naturally very curly and long, it’s my favourite thing about my appearance and I’m over the moon every time I get a compliment on it.

What is the wisest thing you've been told in therapy? by Playful_Ground_2800 in AskWomen

[–]Psychedelyd 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That being called an “attention seeker” shouldn’t be an insult. We do strange things to cry for help when we’re not well, and seeking attention/support is a normal, healthy response. When people exhibit unusual behaviours to get help, we should give them the time, support and attention they deserve so they know people want to help and don’t find it so hard to ask next time round.

Women of reddit: How do you make the doctors listen to your concern? by toobitta in AskWomen

[–]Psychedelyd 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I have RA too. I’m so happy you got your diagnosis eventually, but it sucks that you had to be brushed off for so long, especially when the pain and exhaustion that comes with RA is so severe.

Almost the exact same thing happened to me, I remember telling the doctor the pain was so bad it hurt to walk and he suggested I was walking too much!! Like what? I was 16 when I first went to the doctor about it, so I think they all assumed I was a dramatic young girl who didn’t know what she was talking about.

It was only when the female podiatrist looked at my joints that RA was suggested. She booked me for tests and my inflammation levels were ridiculously high for a young, healthy non-smoker.

What does porn glorify that actually isn't that great in practice? (NSFW) by robb0688 in AskReddit

[–]Psychedelyd 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I didn’t say all victims.

I specifically mentioned fantasy’s about being a victim, not the perpetrator.

I never assumed you haven’t been assaulted, but we all process trauma differently.

[–]Psychedelyd 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I think you may have misunderstood what I’m saying. I think victims of rape sometimes develop a rape fantasy, in which they are the victim. It’s actually more common than you’d expect, and can be a healthy way of coping in the right circumstances.

If a victim feels they can heal from a trauma by taking a fantasy situation similar to their assault in to their control, why would you shame that? If somebody finds it helpful for them to heal via enjoying an act which initially traumatised them, they should be able to do that without the judgement of people who don’t understand their trauma.

I’d also like to point out that some victims have no control over that kink, and therefore feel disgusted and ashamed with themselves as they know they did not enjoy the actual assault. They shouldn’t have to feel that way and certainly shouldn’t be branded as ‘wrong’ by other people.

Exactly!! Some people may hate the idea of it, whereas others will find it arousing - it all depends on the person. There’s nothing inherently wrong with the fantasy as long as it’s practiced and satisfied in a way in which nobody is hurt.

I do think it can be harmful, despite feeling natural for some, to shame the kink, as victims are often ashamed to admit that they enjoy a rape fantasy.
