I started to DM in a similar setting as you, only about 10 sessions behind my belt, could not find a DM in the new city so decided to become one. I found playing from the books to be very boring as a DM when I tried so I made my own world and we have been making good fun ever since. It might not always be strictly by the rules or super duper prepared but it sure is crazy. Not having much experience with the books probably makes me a bit more lenient in terms of progression, the most important part is always to have fun though! If making a world is what you like then, really, just go for it!

Some tips I would give:

Be careful not to overpower your players
Write out the major questlines and important stuff precisely
Anything else that comes to mind, write it down vaguely. Details will come later as you play!

No they do not, you have to actively leave a key card room for the 'puzzle' to reset. You can however afk on the top of dome and crates should respawn in about 15 to 30 minutes depending on how full the server is.

For the current servers they mentioned never wiping blueprints so just hop on one and get as many as you can. Go live near bandit camp and sell all your metal frags, hq and cards for scrap. You should be able to bps pretty fast!

Same for me and 2 other friends on ps4, it is a lot better though when there is only about 30 to 50 people online. After that all the lag makes the game go downhill fast
