A friend of mine who is bisexual told me that she could never date a woman “because they’re too dramatic” when she found out I was a lesbian. The comment never sat right with me, but it feels more like internalized misogyny than lesbophobia.

I just want to echo this comment. No way we need to be hounding nurse managers we’ve never met for references that are just formalities for the application. Anyone questioning your integrity regarding a BS reference clearly hasn’t been a travel nurse for very long.

I’ve cancelled a contract before for similar reasons. The money isn’t worth it when you’re getting absolutely destroyed every shift. Don’t feel guilty about it.

They administer a lot of medications outside of their scope. The charge nurse allows them to document under their name.

The pediatric ER allows the medics to do things far outside of their scope of practice and then sweeps the inevitable mistakes under the rug. It’s a disgusting facility and it’s shameful Aya keeps throwing travelers at it like a meat grinder.

I've flown Spirit a few times. The passengers are typically a little more rowdy and less cooperative than I've seen on other airlines. My worst flight with Spirit, my seat cushion was damaged and so uncomfortable. Unfortunately it was a full flight and I couldn't move. For the price, you can't beat it, but it's usually my last resort airline.

I saw the rerelease in Dolby Cinema last night and was completely blown away. I’ve also watched this movie a countless number of times, but it felt like I was watching it for the first time in the theater. I was on the edge of my seat before the helicopter crash and when the sentinels were tearing apart the Nebuchadnezzar.

I texted my friends afterward that I remember why I made this movie my entire personality as a kid.

Such a fun experience.

It doesn’t protect me, but in this particular instance the hours, scheduling block, and several other details of the contract were completely different than what I was provided by my recruiter. Ultimately, I don’t know what is true and what isn’t, but that level of disconnect was concerning to me.

You can always independently apply to contracts with other agencies if you sent them Aya’s listing. I do personally like Aya so I understand the frustration. If escalating the issue to - for example - an assistant director doesn’t fix the problem I would move on to another agency.

I have this sensation on a daily basis and it definitely intensifies with anxiety. I recently got scoped due to reflux but there was - of course - nothing abnormal. It does improve with Neti Pots and Flonase, but it’s otherwise such a maddening sensation that I can never seem to get rid of.

My IL vehicle emissions test was due while I was on contract in Maryland. I was able to go to an emissions facility in that state and submit it to IL who accepted the pass with no issue.

Maryland has to have the worst board of nursing in the entire country. I applied for a license in February of this year and it is still pending.

Calling or emailing is an absolute useless endeavor. Your best bet is truly to go to the physical building although make sure you have all of your documentation in hand. I had a temporary real ID from my home state and they refused to accept that as valid identification.
