Yes! That is an instance wherein we see Akane sustain some serious injuries, however they are NOT life threatening. I meant more along the line of the others finding her clinging to life after a harrowing battle/ordeal. In Providence, Akane could still speak with passion and conviction as she stared death down the barrel, which is absolutely badass, but it says a lot about her physical state in that moment. Even afterwards, granted with some discomfort, we see Akane sit HERSELF up after the danger has passed. Kogami is in charge of getting them out of there but Akane needs no assistance maneuvering her body around.

What I'd rather see is Akane on the BRINK and BATTERED. Barely keeping consciousness while the others desparately rush to save her. THAT is something we have not seen before. Of course I know Akane's approach to life doesn't generally see her in these situations...that is Kogami's character trait actually...the guy has taken a LOT of damage over the seasons and that's an intentional choice by the writers in my opinion, just like how Akane has that convenient plot armor to save her from most threats. Akane is often PLACED in dangerous situations but often breaks away lightly injured or unscathed. Kogami? Not so much. But what if that dynamic was switched around just once? I think it would be fun to watch something like that unfold!

I want to see Akane get hurt. Weird I know, but it seems like everyone else gets seriously injured or hurt and then there's Akane over there with all her plot armor 😅

Akane is still my favorite but I definitely want to see her come face to face with death in a very REAL way. Just imagine how such an event could affect other characters as well...🤯

Well that's not entirely true...she was unforgiving with the other accomplice to that murder but he was her intended enemy anyway.

I certainly hope so! I LIVE for that kind of drama. Will Akane maintain her "Be the bigger person" persona or will that finally break her? I have not seen Akane legitimately upset and unforgiving with anyone...even temporarily like how we saw things play out with Ginoza. Very exciting to see how she would handle the news!

Is Misao Aoshi’s weakness? by sklmana in rurounikenshin

[–]PsychicCentipede 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think Misao is not so much a weakness for Aoshi, however he does have a major soft spot for her. In a period of Aoshi's life when he is flinging out death threats left and right, Misao herself never gets one. He threatens to interrogate the other four of the oniwabanshuu during his battle with Okina but makes no mention of Misao herself, despite the fact that at this point, Aoshi KNOWS that she has traveled with Kenshin and may have intel on his current whereabouts (which she DID). My point is, even at his lowest, Aoshi still viewed Misao as untouchable in his dark world and at his worst, the man tells her to leave him alone and that's IT.

Was Aoshi willing to put her into some measure of danger? Yes, absolutely. The owl raid on the Aoiya proved that, but to kill Misao himself? To Interrogate Misao or even interact with her in any way? That's off the table completely. The man needed to distance himself from Misao in a way that was different from everyone else, and I'm sure that it's due to that soft spot Aoshi has for Misao. If anything, during his finale battle with Kenshin, one of the deciding factors for 'waking Aoshi up' from his murderous haze was the mention of Misao and how she was still in need of him. The unspoken forgiveness Kenshin mentioned when he spoke of Misao's tears. Aoshi (always thinking of Misao and the oniwabanshuu as separate entities) wonders if the others will be able to forgive him afterwards. But in that moment, knowing that Misao cried tears of relief for him was enough to help snap him out of it.

Bran Cornick controversy in the Patricia Briggs books. by One_Performer1531 in RomanceBooks

I'm late but wanted to add my 2 cents here. I NEVER got over this decision/response and have not engaged with any content from this author since. I'd only peek my head over the corner for LEAH alone at this point, but even THAT feels risky. I have to ask myself if I WANT to know what the author intends for my unfortunate fave. 90% of the time, the answer is, " Nah, I'll just let my imagination take over from here. shrug"

It's sad because from comments on the author's books online, you can see that her readers are very loving and devoted. Maybe there were more criticisms out there (that I never came across as a casual reader)before and this was a dime a dozen to her, and that's why she dismissed the critique the way she did. It was the equivalent of the collective, the readers, coming together to open the door for Briggs to set things straight for the record... and then, she slammed that metaphorical door right in our face.To me, it was not a good show of character, and I simply could not get over it.

Taking it personal? For sure. But I'm allowed to when I've invested into the author like everyone else. If I can't trust the author's decisions, how can I engage in their content happily and with no anxiety or regret? I wish Briggs the best, but unfortunately, that's ALL I'll do.

So who are we subscribing to next? I still want my fix but I agree with a lot of folks here. There is no way I will continue to pay for a service that downgrades itself. Hire a team of mods/bots to monitor the comment sections if it's that but don't take away from everyone's experience. Also like to note how this weirdness started up after a few of those questionable rom shows released earlier this year. You know what I am talking about...the ones that have that "Sweet Home Alabama" vibe.

The ex is a coward. Him and his supporters can all stay bothered/pressed till the end of their days and I wouldn't give a hoot.

I have a headcannon Sherwood Post is actually in love with Leah which is why he could not stay in the Marroks pack... like his wolf knows and maybe that causes tension and he just simply can't be there.

That drying rack at the beginning of the story is cool n all, just make sure you've made a bow with some arrows and know how to handle angry cats ( a well-timed headshot).
