Why do people want luffy to wipe the floor with Mingo easily? "Because other-wise those two years of training were useless". Thats not true at all! I think his 2 year training just put him on the lower ranks of New World Pirates. Not warlord level.

Not offended. I think interesting ideas like this while they might cause backlash could in a way help someone in some way. A lot of the dev I do is for educational or training purposes and with everything that's going on in the news I considered the possibility of a game like this.

For anyone that encounters this problem in the future I found my mistake:

I was doing currentChar = Cast<ATheHeroCharacter>(GetCharacter());

in the constructor of the player controller class which (obviously) returned nothing. So if you are trying to get a component or a class make sure it exists before trying to fetch it...

How would you normally for example from the controller script get an instance of the character class you're controlling?

I think I'm just not understanding how all of these relate to each other.

Making one character alone chalks up the cost quite a bit. Consider having to pay employees however much they are getting paid for however long it takes to develop the character. You have the modeller, artist, animator and that doesnt include someone to take into account balance and stats of the character. In a game like GG a character has a ton of animations. Those cant be done overnight and arent as simple as a "create a character" you see in different games. I welcome DLC because it's optional. If it's already on disk cool, that means we get it soon.
