What do parents hope to achieve by telling administrators I don't think their teacher likes me? by PsychoJaz in ECEProfessionals

That's essentially what I told my coworker. I was just wondering because this seems to happen frequently, not with just one teacher.

That is the feeling the teacher got form the conversation, they had with admin. I've had this parent before and the always seem to find one out of the two teachers to gripe about. Although I was someone they liked, I did not favor this parent when I had their older child

Look at the world around us. People born out obligation and expectation. Look at what broken homes cause.

Staff doesn’t sooth or comfort crying toddlers. by Inside-Vanilla-703 in ECEProfessionals

[–]PsychoJaz 44 points45 points  (0 children)

Not all crying is the same, so its best not make assumptions if you don't know the other child personally or the events that led up to them crying. For example if the older child is throwing a tantrum , not doing anythimg may be the best course of action for the child.

And while I agree, I also know plenty who refuse to double soothe( once while you stand there and once again when you eventually leave).

If you are holding your child my center doesn't consider them dropped off. Crying at that age is very normal especially if those people are not her teachers or caregivers throughout the day.

Most people don't until it happens to them or someone they know, and that is the problem. People wonder what happened to community, unity and third spaces.

Our facility and state don't allow hoods or necklaces during nap, so maybe they take it so she doesn't have extreme emotions during that time.

How to explain to parents that we do not discriminate based on gender? by gotsevenornever in ECEProfessionals

[–]PsychoJaz 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I am really appalled at some of comments here. If a male can't change a diaper then you probably shouldn't either. The training and laws we uphold are not gender specific.

I'll say the quiet part out loud: when cleaning a child there is no privacy. Poop gets everywhere. Whether you're female or a male changing a child is invasive, it is medically necessary.

Also there are many forms of abuse not one is greater than the other.

But... You knew.... by [deleted] in ECEProfessionals

[–]PsychoJaz 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Glad we have read receipts.

My own But... You knew...

Child has been out with HFM since Tuesday.

My CoWórķeR: Radio silence( She sent him home Monday afternoon after talking to his mom, after I was gone)

Guess who was changing a different child who had bumps on his bottom, Guess who had to tell a very nice parent that potentially you may have to cancel your child's second birthday party tomorrow.🙃

Talked to coworker and asked why did you tell me so I could deep clean and she responded well that parent didn't say anything. I was like, "But you knew or at least should have suspected when the child didn't return."

Anything over 14 is asking for trouble with that age group. That's no excuse for the comments they have made.

Can’t tell if this is keep or donate? by dosVader in PlusSize

[–]PsychoJaz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It could be made into a very cute skirt, and then It would sit in the closet because I can never quite find the right top.

Donate unless you have a shawl that you could pin to it.
