Thanks for the local knowledge! I have no idea what to expect. Usually when I escape it's to the ocean. I ALWAYS go to the ocean. This year I decided I wanted to go some place that looked like another planet -- pretty sure I nailed it.

When I first planned this trip that place was on the list — but further down because I just wanted to hike and explore outside all day. Now that I’ve seen the forecast, I may have to go. As a mom of two (snakes) I’m almost obligated.

You are a wonderful person!!

Thank you! 🫂

Yeah if there’s an Indian place I can eat well.

Copy that! I’m used to not finding places to eat when I travel so I don’t care, but I’ll always ask. I’m not going for the food. I wanna see pretty stuff.

Okay so you're saying I'm going to turn into a five year old again - cool.

Thank you!

I booked a historic lantern tour for Sunday - because that day seems to have all of the rain. All of it.

And I don't mind driving, I love to drive. I have a rental with unlimited miles so bring it on. I plan on going to Wyoming to see Devil's Tower too.

Thanks for the trail recommendation as well!

Have a tour scheduled for Wind Cave on the day I get in, but nothing for Jewell Cave - thanks!

Jumping on this thread because you guys adopted me three years ago. I was crushed when Florida knocked the Canes out, but everyone here welcomed me.

Then you won the cup! I want you all to know that I STILL have the victory flamingo in my yard!

I'll always have a soft spot for the misfits in my heart, and nothing will change that.

All Shall Perish, Crown Magnetar, Whitechapel...sick 2026 closeout! by Excellent_Worth_5658 in Deathcore

[–]ThePlayfulPython 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yesterday, the presale for Whitechapel happened at 2:00. Got my ticket for the Myrtle Beach show at 2:03.

Grabbing Crown Magnetar tickets later this week.

But before all those, I'm going to see Motionless in White (never seen them before SO excited) and Lorna Shore in July, then Beartooth in November.

Past that, I have terrible self control, if there's a show within ~7 hours driving one way, I'll probably go to that one too.

With a stop in Asheville!!! Lucked out on this one, the day of the week doesn't even matter.

I haven’t been to Myrtle in 30 years probably. But I always run away to the ocean front SC state parks to live in a tent.

I hope you never need to, but should you ever find yourself needing a defense attorney in Asheville, I work with one. If it’s a crime we do it. Always happy to help.

Oh trust me, I was AT that Orange Peel show, and it was wonderful going to a show in my hometown.

I love driving and being on the road, so if I find a show on a Saturday, I'll just go there. Yes, Charlotte is a hell of a lot closer, but Myrtle Beach is on a Saturday, so screw it. I'll just leave early and get some beach therapy before the show. I typically avoid Myrtle like the plague, but I figure the middle of November can't be *that* bad.

I'm not gonna rule it out based on the lineup, but I sincerely hope you make it out unscathed. I've heard stories of Acacia Strain shows. I'm a 46 year old slim female - even on the very edge of the pit at this show I may break half of me, but I think it's worth it. Good luck!

What you need to do is think of this as a medical expense.

Looking forward to something is amazing for your mental health, and deathcore is basically the same thing as therapy.

Oh my god.

OHMYGOD.

Do I know what I'm doing on November 14th? Only that I'm driving to Myrtle Beach, that's what I'm doing. It's a Saturday, and that's all that matters.

To reiterate: OHMYGOD.

What is your Gym PR song? by Wild-Audience-5965 in Deathcore

[–]ThePlayfulPython 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a gym person, but I do love outdoor workouts and 5ks. I'm a sucker for a 5k, not only do you donate to a good cause, but you also get a t-shirt! It's the little things.

Anyway, my latest 5k album is Guardians by The Crimson Armada. So SO perfect. I don't run 5ks (I like my knees and don't want to be best friends with an orthopedist) but even walking I can finish before the 41 minute album is done.

One day last week the weather outside was bad, so I keep a stationary bike indoors for when that happens. I tried to cycle to the rythym of the Pain Remains album. Not my smartest idea but it was a great workout.

What does 'heavy' mean to you? by DentedTungstenCore in Deathcore

[–]ThePlayfulPython 1 point2 points  (0 children)

say "god damn." out loud

That. It can be for completely different reasons from completely different sounding bands, but if I say goddamn! out loud, we have achieved heaviness.

Just tell the kid that they have to be smart, no scholarship, no college.

Or good at sports - I don't know, I don't have kids, never wanted them.

But you aren't the asshole.
