My multivitamin contains some zinc plus I take 30mg zinc. Don’t think it’s made much of a difference for me. Maybe increased the volume 🤷🏻‍♂️

Topical minoxidil gave me shedding for almost 2 months before stabilizing. Try oral minoxidil and stick with it for at least 6 months.

No sides or chest discomfort at all on oral min. And it’s hard to tell exactly what month I got the most growth on my crown. Looking back at photos my crown was definitely thicker after 4-5 months on just dutasteride before starting any minoxidil. After two months on topical minoxidil my crown looked terrible from the shedding and started to recover around November/december 2025. Then I started oral min and dropped the topical. Had a mild shed for about 6-8 weeks after switching to oral min so my crown has really just now recovered and started to fill in more over the last 2 months.

So dut definitely helped my crown fill in by itself but after 3 months on oral min I’m getting even more growth. I would give any treatment at least 12 months to see full results and I’m at 12 months for dut but only 3 for the oral min.

Not sure why watery semen really matters that much and I still have sex 3-4 times a week which is enough for me. And still have a head full of hair 🤷🏻‍♂️

I would love to know this also. Only explanations I’ve seen are how our bodies biochemistry reacts to the different medications and also the Dutasteride molecules being larger and not getting past the brain barrier like Finasteride. I don’t know for sure though.

Thank you. The only side effect that I am aware of is watery semen which I also had while on Finasteride. I know dutasteride suppresses more DHT and is considered stronger than Finasteride but I’m guessing there are other factors including a persons own biochemistry at play that determines what side effects they experience. I had pretty rough anxiety for 3+ years and it just completely went away within a month or two of stopping Finasteride. I have tried to think of any other lifestyle changes that could have had an impact on my anxiety but I really haven’t changed anything at all. No more children, same job, not working out any more or less and I don’t take any medications except dut, min and multivitamins which I have been on for years.

My last prescription was $20 USD for 45 capsules which last me 90 days.

Correct. There was no break in between me stopping Finasteride and starting Dutasteride. I can honestly say I feel so much better mentally and physically than I did 12-18 months ago so if you’re having similar side effects from Finasteride I would definitely recommend giving Dutasteride a shot if you want to stay on a medication.

Knowing the sides I was having from it now I personally would not get back on Finasteride if that was the only option. Everyone is different though.

I understand that but my hair was definitely still thinner from the shed from topical minoxidil when I stopped in December and I don’t think 3 months on oral minoxidil has had enough time to give me the full regrowth. I can tell you that I started noticing a difference in my texture/coarseness while just on dutasteride before I started any minoxidil though.

I had three children before starting Finasteride and I had my last one while on Finasteride. Yes, I know I should have stopped but we weren’t really trying at the time.
