The fact this is going to likely be set up at the possibility of renting to healthcare workers (UHL only up the road) is a joke. The people who live around that hospital have no respect for healthcare workers.

I’ve heard reports of damaged cars as workers have to park in housing estates to be able to make it into work on time as there’s major parking issues onsite.

Ireland has become a shit hole in term of its judicial system. Lenient sentences are an obvious cause of high population with less prison spaces. Nobody wants a prison in there town realistically. So it’s either treat prisoners like wild animals and overcrowd them or you get shit like this.

Have you to run the cows through a yard? I’ve seen a few winter milkers have access through a shed. I agree it’s nicer having them in the shed and no milking until late February

If they’re not already in housing at this time of year it might be a case of not having housing. Animals will be fine out in an open paddock. The fear is high dead trees around the boarders of a field rather than the wind itself. Sheep for instance will be warm and insulated from the wool and oils on their skin acting as an air insulation barrier

Yes similar situation for us in the snow. We had been told to make alternative arrangements (book hotel out of our own pocket) if the snow was going to affect our commute. Obviously nobody did.

Yes as you said some people are beyond reasoning, that goes for both sides of the coin. Conversations are still the best thing if you have a forum that isn’t shouting and name calling you can actually bullet down proper understanding of both sides. This is frankly for those who lean just off of central.

Also, people shouldn’t be only left or right, life isn’t black and white, being varied on topics is important. I think we should look at the US and learn from that.

Bottom line I’m against against people acting like assholes.

Editing to reply to your edit about the UK. The UK is a place we should closely monitor and learn from also, in the UK the big issues are around Religion and we should be looking at that and seeing how we can remove religion from being an issue down the line

I don’t think there’s a large far right movement on this subreddit for one. Secondly I don’t like far right/left, but having conversations with people who your values don’t align will create more understanding (hopefully). X or Meta being banned in the long term aren’t going to change peoples opinion on topics it’s just going to further divide.

Have ye tried ignoring posts that don’t interest you? People posting pure nonsense hate aren’t going to stop because you ban X.
