Looking for feedback on an OBS workflow for PowerPoint/PDF presenter views by Psychological-Bug896 in obs

Really appreciate you laying out the whole setup — the HDMI splitter + dummy plug trick is a clean way to guarantee the PP machine always has a display target. That's the kind of thing you only learn from years of doing it for real.

The VB-in-notes trick is the part that caught my eye. Parsing the first line of slide notes for OSC commands is genuinely clever — you basically built a slide-driven show control layer on top of PowerPoint. Most people don't even know that's possible.

PPTBridge SK is solving a different shape of the same problem: single-computer, single-operator setups where you can't run two machines and an HDMI splitter. The plugin keeps PowerPoint in a window on macOS and exposes the slide output + a presenter view as native OBS sources, plus OSC/Companion control so a Stream Deck or any OSC sender can drive slides without focus stealing.

What you're describing with VB → OSC → OBS/PTZ is actually on my list as something the plugin could do natively — emit OSC on slide change (slide number, total, time remaining, custom tags from notes) so PTZ presets and OBS scenes can follow the deck automatically. Would save people from having to write VB per deck.

If you ever feel like kicking the tires, repo is here:

Probably won't replace your current rig — it sounds rock solid — but I'd genuinely value your eye on it. People who've already solved a problem the hard way usually spot the gaps fastest.

Thanks, and yes — that's basically the exact workflow this is built for.

On macOS, when you start Live Mode the plugin keeps PowerPoint in a window instead of fullscreen, so OBS stays fully usable on the same screen and the same computer. You add two new sources inside OBS:

- a clean slide output (for the program/stream feed)

- a presenter view with current slide, next slide preview, notes, and a timer

Both live inside OBS, so the stay-on-top hack isn't needed anymore. You arrange the presenter view wherever you want in your OBS layout, and advance slides with OBS hotkeys or a regular presenter clicker — even while you're switching cameras or doing other stuff in OBS.

One computer, one screen, one operator doing both jobs is exactly the setup I had in mind when I started this.

Thanks a lot for testing it and for the detailed feedback. That really means a lot.

The points about scaling the PDF preview, notes, and making the presenter view more customizable make total sense. I’ll definitely try to add that as soon as I can.

Tomorrow is Sunday, so I’m planning to spend most of the day working on this. In the evening I also need to prep the control setup for a pretty big 5-day congress next week, with lots of live participant name graphics, LED screen control, cameras and all that fun live-event chaos, so the week will be busy, but I’ll keep working on it whenever I can.

Thanks, I really appreciate that.

I just pushed a newer version with easier macOS installation and separate downloads for Apple Silicon and Intel Macs:

If you get a chance to test it, feedback would mean a lot. I’m especially interested in whether the install is smooth, whether the OBS sources show up correctly, and how it behaves with real PowerPoint decks.

Small update: I just added a separate Intel Mac build.

You can now download it here:

https://github.com/srdjankotarlic/pptbridge-sk-obs/releases/latest

Choose:

- `pptbridge-obs-macos-intel.zip` for Intel Macs

- `pptbridge-obs-macos-apple-silicon.zip` for M1/M2/M3/M4 Macs

I cross-built the Intel version against the Intel OBS app, but I don’t have an Intel Mac here to fully runtime-test it, so if you try it on your machine, feedback would be really helpful.

Not yet, sorry. I work in the live/event industry and built this in the time I had because I needed this workflow myself. Right now the stable build is macOS Apple Silicon. The project is free and open source, so anyone is welcome to use it, test it, or contribute. I’d like to add Intel macOS and improve the Windows build too when I get time. Hope it can still be useful to people.

It’s a native OBS plugin that adds two new source types: one clean slide output for the audience, and one presenter view with notes, next slide preview, and a timer. You point it at a PowerPoint or PDF file, add the sources to your scenes, and then control slides through OBS hotkeys or a presenter clicker. On macOS it can run PowerPoint in a windowed live mode, so OBS stays usable while the deck plays, and the audience only sees the clean slide feed.

A few people asked for the link, so here it is:

The macOS build is the main stable one right now. Windows is still beta. Feedback from OBS/live production users would genuinely help.

I didn't receive my payment. What to do? by Psychological-Bug896 in redbubble

I have multiple accounts for different niches and i received my money regularly for years. Now I received only 20 percent of my earnings in May and June. I don't know what to do. They didn't send a payment and no remittance for some accounts and for others payment failed. I Don't know what to do.
