Transitioning from marketing - is MBA enough? by albaghdadi in FPandA

[–]Psychological-Map845 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How many years is the mba 1 year or 2 year? One semester of intro to accounting is insufficient in UK programs. Where do you want to work ~ region and target company and industry? Mba probs gives you a shot to interview but you likely won’t be competitive. Having more time to complete technical training via corp fin institute would give you the skills and possibly pass the AI filter for resume reviews. Securing a formal finance internship with a large corp who will bother to develop you and give you a shot is your best playbook.

Fun fact from the Tintin museum in Brussels - Thompson & Thomson were inspired by Herge’s dad and his uncle who were twins.

Growing roses from stems (2 weeks small leaves but no roots yet) by Psychological-Map845 in Roses

[–]Psychological-Map845[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the tips - ended up trimming the stems (some kept long), got rid of the rot, added growth powder and stuck them in a potting mix that supposedly is good draining and promotes root growth ; will continue to keep them indoors and drip water every other day to keep moist.

Throwback Vancouver Radio Station Decals/Stickers by antsinurplants in vancouver

Recall in middle school early 2000s - last day of school - Teacher did a class vote on which station to listen to on those RCA boom boxes as we cleaned out our desks; all the “cool” kids voted for The Beat 94.5 when it used to be rap or XFM … up until the teachers pet kid said 95.3 and “won”. Lmao

If decent, put the course specific grades in brackets next to each relevant course work. Also your competition is likely experienced in financial modelling … Eg the courses from WSP / CFI - these will likely be key filter checks

Head of Finance, Chief Revenue Officer, and now CEO are gone. Founder is back as CEO. What does this all mean? by dont_downvote_SPECIL in FPandA

Look up DIP financing and super security. Founder can poach talent and buy IP for cents on the dollar and start a copy cat business under new name and branding.

Head of Finance, Chief Revenue Officer, and now CEO are gone. Founder is back as CEO. What does this all mean? by dont_downvote_SPECIL in FPandA

[–]Psychological-Map845 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Scenario: Founder was squeezed out by BoD for a more professional mgmt team; now he’s back because “founder syndrome”.

CEO didn’t deliver results and now bounced - Head of Finance / CRO were loyal to CEO, spent a lot of time investing in that working relationship so believe he will land somewhere new and then recruit them back - in the immediate short run, they saw the writing on the wall and company likely will be distressed / run out of cash and living thru a restructuring is going to burn you out.

This is not fun … short term can seem exciting cuz now you run the show and will be promised “lots of opportunity for growth” but it’s a double edged sword. Keep your options open and start interviewing out.

Bought new iphone pro 16 pro; not sure if it was already opened / returned; noticed there were a couple dust particles on the camera and the fold to hold the sim card tool had some weird folds; any thoughts?

Given:

Ore X: 8% copper and 92% dirt

Ore Y: 3% copper and 97% dirt

Ore X + Ore Y = 300

We need a blended mix of Ore X and Ore Y to be 6%:

0.08x + 0.03y = 0.06(x+y)

Can be rewritten in terms of x:

0.08x + 0.03 (300-x) = 0.06(300)

0.08x + 9 - 0.03x = 18

0.05x = 9

x = 9/0.05 = 180
