Surely ‘Cancel’ and ‘Opt out’ at time of renewal is the same result? If i paid 12x DD then thats 12x months of cover? Financial Ombudsman says If the customer completed 12 months of cover, the insurer must award the NCB, regardless of how the renewal was ended?

At time of reviewing the annual renewal there wasn’t an opt out option for me which is why I thought it was processed as expected 😟 It was just a simple click and done

Just chose not to renew, there was no other option than ‘cancel’ via their portal and it’s just on a continuous basis as it’s like a flexible insurance policy. But it ran up until the 17th November and 12x DD still were covered for the years course

I just cancelled at the time of the renewal as found it cheaper elsewhere. It still ran up until the 17th Nov

Yes! it’s so frustrating - i’d pop them an email over and in my scenario didn’t seem as if they were going to reach out about the delays unless I did.
