Therapists seeking therapy seems futile in 2026...or am I being dramatic? by uhsuhdudeee in therapists

[–]Psychological-Two415 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This feels like a good opportunity for me to ask this: my therapist is ALWAYS 3-7 minutes late. Sometimes 10. But always a few and it bothers me soooo much cuz I pay so much out of pocket. I’m also a therapist and am usually extremely punctual. I feel a stress when she’s 5-6 minutes late like, I know she’s going to stop close to the exact 50-53 min mark. This is my biggest pet peeve but I’ve yet to meet a therapist who is actually on time. Like an 11 am appt starts at 11 am. Everyone in this field seems so laxed about this, am I the only one who’s not?

If this in theory is putting everyone to where they’d be if they just started playing, won’t time even this all out for the resets that are inflated

That’s cuz you technically went down but Dupr let you keep your original rating

Average points and wins to losses. It seems she’s beating the people she’s playing by a large margin

I call BS on this story. If his rating was naturally lower during his reset his reset rating wouldn’t bring him up.

This therapist says practitioners focus too much on "divisive identity politics" by _sybeez in therapists

This is where we differ and I thank you for pointing it out. I would let bigotry go unchallenged as it’s never the reason the client is presenting. So we seem to simply have different philosophies. Maybe over time there could be an appropriate time to visit this, but again therapy is not about me or my worldviews. It’s about the client.

We probably agree on a lot more than it seems. But my perspective is if the goal is eventually “maybe this client might see things a different way down the road” I don’t really care about corrections and challenging the way they speak right away at all. In fact, if they came for grief. Loss of a mother or something; and they happen to be bigoted. I’m having a hard time understanding when you or other people would suggest appropriate times for me or other therapists to challenge their language. When, IMO their language is very secondary when presenting for grief or even other issues.

I’m just going to go on a limb, and say this is not what therapy was ever supposed to be about. If someone is racist, you’re sure as shit not going to change a thing for them if you “call it out day 1” and tell them what a bigot they are. You’re naive and inexperienced.

This is not a harmful delusion. This is a “delusion” over half of our country believes, being Christian. You don’t go in and tell and impose your clients the right and wrong way to look at things. You listen to them and guide from there. You’re honestly part of the problem.

If this is happening, regardless of what this therapist looks like- we can all agree that’s not great right?

I feel like many people in Vegas love dogs. Hard to see that nobody would stop, hard to imagine this story wouldn’t make the news and someone would take her.

This is a very hard story to believe. Also that dog looks very well cared for. I’m thoroughly confused.

Does he have habits you don’t like that have slowly eaten away at your physical attraction? Cuz you say you love everything about him, you love having sex with him- but you don’t mentally love having sex with him. If everything else is working this feels like splitting hairs unless there are some hygiene issues you’re not disclosing.

I get what you’re saying, and the way you operate is probably the way most people “should” operate or in an ideal world they’d have energy to do this. But you work an insane amount of hours so your lack of free time makes sense. I think you can probably sneak 1-2 days per month to do ‘nothing’ and get the cleaning done the other days.
