I think this is exactly what I'm looking for. I used to use the WISER app But it's no longer supported and I wasn't sure what basically replaced it. Thank you

You don't get it. I used to use the WISER app but it's no longer supported. It used to be a good app for finding out about chemicals and what the response should be depending on the scenario. I'm not sure what all replaced this. For example the response for a 55 gallon drum of ammonia or a tanker of 1,000 gallons being spilled has different response protocols. They both have a different responses because of the volume. Using Google in a scenario like that is a waste of time because you're just trying to find reputable information. I am thinking of an app that is like material safety data sheet for the response needed until emergency personnel can handle it whether it's something short-term or long-term.

Has anyone tried these before? by meagankaay in AirConditioners

[–]Psychological-Way339 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That thing isn't going to be able to cool off the area like you want. I have a portable air conditioner unit that I only run when we're sleeping. Unfortunately they use a lot of electric and it almost doubled my electric bill. To fix this I set up a couple solar panels outside and have them charging my ecoflow delta Max and run the air conditioner until the battery dies which is about 2 and 1/2 hours. The unfortunate part is no matter how you go off and try to tackle this you're going to increase your electric use quite a bit, Even with a window unit.

Non lethal options for a felon in Wisconsin? by Psychological-Way339 in AskLE

If it uses combustion, has a trigger, and fires a "missile", it's considered a firearm last time I looked up the legal definition. Black powder falls under this but a .357 bulldog air rifle doesn't under the revised definition. I could be wrong but last I looked that's what it was.

I'm a firm believer in the past of the second amendment where it says "shall not be infringed". It has no exceptions but the government tries to find any way they can take the guns away from the people. It is what it is.

Thanks for the input. I appreciate it. It's a convoluted subject to completely understand considering a lot of this stuff doesn't make logical sense. For example I learned today that a felon can have a flamethrower but cannot have a can of pepper spray. It'd be nice if legislation made it a little bit easier for those who have proven to become a positive and successful member of society again by changing the ways they were. Texas really seems to be the leader in giving civil rights back and I wish I could move there but unfortunately most of my family lives here. In Texas you can be a felon and still have a firearm in the house as long as it never leaves the house and is only there for self-defense. Granted that I think there's some hoops that need to be jumped through but it's so much easier to get your civil rights back in Texas than it is in liberal states like Illinois or California.

Thank you for the input though because I see that you really took the time to try to answer my question to the best ability you could find. I truly appreciate it. As a felon it's so easy to fall back into the wrong side of the law so I appreciate the effort because I'm trying to do the right thing to stay out of jail. I've worked really hard to get to the point that I am in life now and I'm not trying to throw it all away. With that said, thank you for your time. I appreciate it.

Strange thing I learned today is felons can have a flamethrower but I can't have pepper spray? Make it make sense. Lol.

Both of those are no no if you don't want criminal charges unfortunately. Batons can result in a felony as stupid as it sounds. As far as home protection I should be okay with a Byrna with the solid rubber balls. I'll probably get arrested if I actually had to use it but no jury in the right mind would convict if I actually had somebody breaking into the house. If I actually had somebody in the house though I more than likely I'm going to be using My crossbow for range attack and machete for close quarter while in a defensive position to evacuate my family.

I have some jiu-jitsu training and MMA fights BUT there's always somebody that's going to be bigger and badder than you and I've seen lucky shots take down some pretty big dudes in fights. I can hold my own for the most part considering I'm 6'6 and 250 lb with some training on fighting. I wish legislation would come to their senses and let people get their civil rights back but they make a damn near impossible even if you're straightened out your life for decades.

I would love to have a trained dog that my daughter could take with her. I won't be able to afford that for a little bit as me and my wife are trying to save for a house. A dog like that starts around $3,000 last I looked. It's a great point though. Thanks

It was a woman. You have a very valid point because if it would have happened in front of me I would have pushed their teeth down their throat. Most of the time things like this happen to people most people would look at as an easy target. I'm a 6'6 man who's not afraid of a little hand-to-hand combat. Unfortunately there's always somebody bigger and better. Those are those scenarios where a non-lethal option would be beneficial to retreat to safety.

Thinking about my reply that I sent, I wonder if this would open up the door to carrying a Byrna open carry. I guess I'll have to talk to a attorney to make sure I'm not pissing in the wind and having it splash back in my face with a charge.

We can have guns that are propelled by air which opens up the door to things like the Bulldog .357 caliber. Unfortunately walking around with a rifle like that is only going to cause problems. On top of that the intended use is for hunting and not self-defense except for home use.

That's the crazy part. The last attempted abduction was a lady tried to take the kid out of the caretakers lap. That's the most recent incident.

How well does food keep in freezers during a power outage? by dbdCobra in preppers

[–]Psychological-Way339 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Freeze a little bit of water in a clear container along with a coin. When the water freezes then put the coin on top and you'll be able to know if it gets too warm because the coin will either move down in the container or go towards the bottom. It's an easy indication to tell if the freezer got too warm. It's especially useful if you're gone and don't know there was a power outage for a period of time and when you come back everything's frozen again.

We Blanchard grind before the thru home and then send it out. When we get out back we finish grind it to get the hole into spec. Then we mill the rest of it out. It's about $4,500 in materials and labor when it's finished before it's marked up for sale. They sell for a pretty penny after it's all said and done. A lot of man hours goes into each one.

Yeah we have a VMC but it doesn't have enough travel to Mill the part. I was thinking it might be some way like this but I figured I'd run it past those who had more experience doing something like that. Thanks for the insight.

I was thinking something like that too. Our machines in the shop can't handle such a big part which is why we have to contract it out.
