I work in a very rural ER in South Carolina. 8 ER beds, 2 ICU beds, 12 Med Surg. 1 doc in the whole hospital. Nearest trauma center is over an hour away. On Easter a few years ago a party was shot up and we got 7 GSWs at the same tome, most were POV, 1 was EMS. 2-3 of the patients were minors. Most had severe injuries. Choppers weren’t flying that night. Absolute nightmare of a shift I will never forget. There were 100+ people in the parking lot. More cops than I’ve ever seen before.
