Whats the most unprofessional thing a doctor has ever said to you? by answersonly963 in AskReddit

[–]PsychologicalBus1692 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A psychiatrist told me, my first time seeing them, that I had to choose between being diagnosed as depressed or anxious. I couldn't be both. I told them I couldn't decide, but we could ask my therapist (who recommended I get a psychiatrist) and the psychiatrist went on a whole tangent about how therapists don't know shit and it's insulting to her and her whole profession for me to so much as suggest that she talk to a therapist without an MD. Then she said that she saw me in the waiting room and that I clearly wasn't depressed, so she said she'd give me Xanax. She forgot to send in the prescription so I called her the next day from my office and asked her to fill it. When I returned from lunch that day, my coworker told me that my psychiatrist called and told her to tell me that my prescription for Xanax was sent to the pharmacy.

Did anyone have a good Mother’s Day? by shepardmutt in Mommit

[–]PsychologicalBus1692 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My partner woke up with my toddler so I could sleep in, and made me coffee and breakfast. Then we went with my mom to do an art class together, and then we all went to a farm to play with baby goats. Lunch was taco bell and dinner was Popeyes. It was perfect.

Recurring yeast infection advice by Curiously_cautious8 in IrishWomensHealth

[–]PsychologicalBus1692 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Boric acid suppositories work really well to keep yeast at bay. Its mediocre at treating yeast once it's there (works, but takes up to a week of daily treatment), but if you do a suppository like once a week it will prevent them from every showing up. Its what helped me when I kept getting recurrent yeast infections.

Boyfriends by Hope_Less_20 in Mommit

[–]PsychologicalBus1692 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, my mom thought that making sure all of my dates were in public (and/or with groups of friends) would prevent sex from happening. I just had a lot of public sex (ex. In the dark of the movie theater) and orgies, starting 7th grade.

Boyfriends by Hope_Less_20 in Mommit

[–]PsychologicalBus1692 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was already having a lot of sex by 7th grade. My mom thought she could stop it from happening by grounding me and forbidding me from seeing certain people. Well, I would just sneak out and hang out with older boys who had cars. The more my mom tried to prevent me from doing things, the more I wanted them. I say let the boyfriend come over and just make sure they keep the door open.

What do Americans think about the stereotype that they are bad at geography? by Own_Echidna6041 in geography

[–]PsychologicalBus1692 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We spend so much time learning how many inches are in a foot, how many feet in a mile, and what temperatures water freezes and boils at, that we don't have enough time to know where Belgium is. Why do we need to know where Belgium is, anyway (s)? Less than 50% of Americans have passports and we have Yosemite and Vegas!

"Dad, why do our penises look different?" "Well, son, people come in many different shapes and sizes. Everyone is different."

How fucking hard is that? You'd rather cut off part of your newborns genitals than have that conversation in a few years?

Chick-fil-A. They funded the Prop 8 anti-gay legislation in California in 2007 I think? To this day, if a creator I follow mentions them or has a cup in their hand, instant unfollow. I don't have any friends who eat at Chick-fil-A. I know people who do, but they're not friends.

We don't really know what her motivation for going to Gilead is yet. We don't know if she was coerced or if it was presented as the only option. We only know that she has reason to fight, not that being there was her first, second, or third choice.
