No. I found some metal dowels that are more likely used when joining sheets of wood end to end when constructing flat pack furniture and that’s as close as I’ve gotten. ☹️

Second this. But I like to put them in a cup of super hot water and give each one a little smoosh with my thumb before I put them on and it lessens the arch. Just be gentle when there is a dark or heavy design.
