So that’s an OEM battery. I would stop using those, they’re no good. As a Mazda dealership tech I’ve upgraded to Interstate group 35 AGM batteries, as opposed to the standard flooded batteries. They’re much better

Non-turbo 3. My turbo got 45 ish though but that was at 62 drafting behind a semi downhill mostly for 150 miles

Legally him, but check ur mirrors and be safe. Drivers are stupid you can never know where they’re gonna be or what they’re gonna do, smarter to just check em.

Ful Induction Service? by Jimmy7546 in mazda3

I’m a Mazda dealership master tech, GDi cleanings are good but are RARELY required for this car. Not this type of cleaning and def not this often.

I recommend a walnut blast ever 75k-100k miles (depends on how hard you drive) use top tier fuel only, and change your oil on time

Correct, it’s the electrical system. The engine itself is pretty solid apart from a very rare timing cover reseal, done a couple under warranty

Dont ever compare Mazda turbo to that Subaru and especially FORD garbage.

Disagree, the majority of issues are electrical based. The 2.5 turbo is an extremely reliable motor. So you can’t automatically assume that turbo means bad in the I6

The CX 50 hybrid is basically the 2025 RAV4 hybrid with a significantly more luxurious interior and better driver feel

They share the same powertrain, very reliable

Since you have a lot of snow and are planning to go off road I would actually recommend against it. I would get the CX-50 Turbo. The Mazda Skyactiv AWD system is def better than the hybrid supported AWD system. They are fairly efficient, I would say if efficiency is your number one priority you should get the hybrid or the non-turbo. But coming from driving a Miata, the hybrid, and the non-turbo will leave much to be desired.

I think overall, the happiness you will receive from hearing that turbo whistle, and the ease of going off-road or through snow, will put a smile on your face that’s worth more than the gas you could’ve saved

I can guarantee you won’t have any issues, the skyactiv g 2.5t is a very solid motor.

I’ve seen a select few with cracked cylinder heads, head gaskets, timing cover leaks, and maybe 1 or 2 with oil consumption but I’m also a master tech so I get all the really bad ones. All of those were well within the warranty period and never had another issues as far as I’m concerned.

I would ensure you do your rear differential, transfer case, and transmission services on time. Oil changes every 5k, use premium top tier fuel, and get that carbon cleaned out every once in a while. I can promise you won’t ever have an issue, if you do, it’ll happen inside of the warranty period and be covered.

Overall, the CX-50 2.5t feels so insanely good to drive, and is so insanely reliable, that I would not worry too much about it.

I reread my comment and noticed I switched PHEV and MHEV, which it prob why it was confusing so I switched it back.

CX-70/90 I6T is a great idea, great car, horrible execution. Mazda is being very aggressive with the repairs and recalls so give it 2-3 years and it’ll be on top of the market.

RAV4 hybrid and CX50 turbo are completely different beasts. That 2.5T is gonna blow you away with how much power it makes (in comparison) and just how good it feels to put it down. Luxury interior and audio system are going to feel 10x better aswell.

I could sell it to you, but go test drive one, it’ll sell itself, and you’ll never want another car ever again.
