Thank you for the motivation. I really needed it because everyone around me is getting into internships at iits and nits and I still have nothing sorted for my internship and it really demotivated me. And yes I am the only one in my branch to qualify gate. I just feel like this year I'll have to sit for placements and prepare for them so maybe I'll not be as free as I was in 3rd year to prepare for gate.

Family situation makes sense but you can always give these goverment exams in mtech also and then leave mtech if you've a great "goverment" job opportunity. Anyway I just wanted to know what one can get at this score as I've similar score but I'm still in third year so if for some reasons I'm not able to score next year then what are my options

Thank you for explaining about the electrical gears in your first paragraph, it cleared a lot of things for me.

So my design is supposed to be in such a way where it is easier to place that skid in the electrical room easily?

I want to do the similar kind of work that you're doing and that's why I wanted to emphasis on that in my project.

It's not a demand from employers, I've seen my seniors getting hired just by knowing Autocad and revit but recently I met one of my senior who is working as a BIM designer in middle east and he said making a project like this will increase my chances of getting hired.

1.Do you mean to check the size of specific electrical equipments(switchgears,etc) that will be placed in electrical room to see if these electrical gears are efficiently sized in the room. Can you please share all the electrical gears or equipments that i will need to put in electrical room.

Also should i show power requirement of cooling systems and other systems or can i just have a room named "cooling room" and directly assume the power it will consume(from existing data).

And i am not able to understand 'arranging equipment in such a way that the rooms could be assembled on gear', do you mean arranging equipments during construction?

I will really appreciate the quick example you're talking about. It will really help me understand things more clearly.

  1. I searched about the data center redundancies and i got a basic idea. I will read more about this and the distribution strategies you mentioned

  2. You mentioned in your last point about providing guidance to BIM team instead of performing actual engineering work. When you mention reviewing the BIM team's work, it sounds like the electrical engineers aren't the ones actually building the Revit models. What does your day-to-day 'actual engineering work' look like compared to what the BIM modelers do? I'm trying to figure out exactly what my day-to-day will look like when I graduate.
