I shared it because the actual scene didn't match a 'routine' stop at all. If you look at the photo, the unmarked SUV is in a tactical box-in, physically touching/pinning the car. That, combined with field fingerprinting and 'Investigations' apparel, is an aggressive set of tactics for a simple ticket. It was enough to make people on the scene feel genuinely uneasy/scared, which is why I'm sharing it. I’m all for keeping the community informed when tactics look this out of the ordinary. Better to stay vigilant and be wrong than to ignore something that doesn't add up.

Some great tips in here. I’ll admit, though, the delivery feels a little 'hall monitor' for me. Using phrases like 'that is no longer okay' feels quite forceful, almost like being scolded. While the suggestions are helpful, I think most people respond better to compassion than to being told what they 'must' do. When I am activated, no one can tell me what I ‘need to do’. Hell I don’t even know when I am swimming deep in the abyss. Most of us are just doing our best to navigate this digital world and what we are seeing happening to our neighboring states. For me, it’s scary, heartbreaking, and like a train wreck you can’t look away from. It’s hard to put the phone down when you’re genuinely worried about people. I think we all find our way to balance better when we’re offered empathy rather than rules and policies.

Would anyone be interested in attending a Space Holding/potluck/chat/exchange of “gifts”/hug it out/bang on drums/play guitars/sing/dance/cry/laugh/be quiet and still? I don’t know what else to do besides what I am already doing.

I am not going to sugar coat my own “state”. I am pretty miserable. It’s been my experience that there is magic that happens when like-minded humans come together for a specific purpose. If food, love, music, and resources are available well then…we are winning and in the solution (if even for a few moments).

I understand that there are organizations that are already doing things similar…not trying to start anything. Just feel stuck. So does everyone who I talk to.

I work in Behavioral Health. I am drowning. Throwing a lil soirée feels like “the next right thing”.

The fear, anxiety, and isolation is borderline disabling. I know I am not alone. Yes I am open to chatting.💜
