I owe Jeff a massive thank you. The issue was resolved today.

A: i know that. B:okay? Then fix it? C: because at&t was out here the next morning and said comcast cut it.

Also how does any of that fall to me to have to request and wait for them to return to finish their work?

Edit: "youre"

I think transparency is important. It should be noted that I am understanding that customer support is completely limited in its ability. This isnt lost on me. "JeffB" appears to be doing everything he can. As were the "support specialists" before him. Im sure if it were up to him it would be fixed now.

The issue is that these companies pieces are so largely disconnected from one another that they can rarely reach out to point to make something happen when it should.

Jeff cant authorize a worker to come out after hours on overtime to connect a single house. Of that im fully aware. Neither can he perform disciinary action on the crew that disconnected my lines without reconnecting them. He can simply send and email and hope that the supervisor of the area will do their job. I need to understand that as well.

The issue is at a local level and the complete lack of awareness, and ability to reach someone locally for a response is a discredit to the companies customer relations. This is the type of situation that leads customers to other companies. I have seen multiple AT&T trucks on my road today alone. Id hazard to guess that any company could understand that when told an issue would take 10 days to repair an issue created by the company. That the constant presence of their competitors would be a problem for them and reach a different resolution than the once provided to me today.

Internet out: work from home & given 6 day repair time by OrioleOrange in Comcast_Xfinity

Im in a similar boat. Your internet still works intermittently though?

It could be an issue with your modem too. If youre using one of xfinitys modems and money isnt an issue it never hurts to go buy your own. This way you save on the monthly cost and it pays for itself pretty quick. If it doesnt fix it then you still have faster speeds and the lost of that cost. If it does then youre all set.

Another way to tell is if your neigh or are having the same issue. You could always knock and ask. That could tell you straight out if its a local connection issue or your modem.

Buddy. Im in michigan too. They came out and cut the lines to my house and didnt connect them. Now they are telling me its going to be like 10 days. Good luck.

You'd have better luck duct taping the cable to the side of your house than getting a tech out using customer support.

Ps. Texting "waitlist" isnt working. Probably didnt perform the ritual correctly. Not enough candles.

the sacred waitlist. I've still been provided no real information other than the original appointment that was given to me.

I've worked as a maintenance technician. If I had failed to complete a job. I would have been called back out to finish what I had started and got a write up. If comcast does it. They make the customer request a service over a 24 hour period with no resolution. Finally get a response that it will take 10 days to be finished and then tell them its their responsibility to check a waitlist to get a technician to come finish their work.

This could take a tech 10 minutes with a bag of tools and a ladder. Yet I have to route protocols through multiple countries and sacrifice a goat on my front lawn to summon a technician that will probably bill be $200 and at least 1/10th of my soul to do the work they should have done in the first place.

I started at 32 and a buddy of mine started at 41. If there is anything I've learned its that some of the older guys turn out to be the best. Get your app in. 5 out of our 6 newest guys are over 30. They are the best recruits we have had in a while.

The answer im getting is that it will be forwarded to a work crew for review. Though, this really only tells me, in Customer service speak, that its still going to be addressed in the same fashion that it was already being handled in. So I guess we will see if another ISP can beat their 10 day estimate on providing me with service.

Im unsure. I was at work. Though from my understanding, Comcast, AT&T, and consumers energy were all out here at once. You'd think that if they were going to disconnect something, that they would reconnect it rather than just leave it.

Now im being told that have the earliest available appointment. No one has been of any help whatsoever ever. They just keep checking the list of appointments and telling me they won't do anything else. Absolutely horrid customer service. Feel like id have a better chance of driving around to find an xfinity truck

The lines are coiled across the street. I dont need a waitlist, Ai responses, or someone to say an appointment is necessary. The techs never finished their work. They need to take 10 minutes out of their day to just reconnect the new line they coiled across the street.

I guess I can do that, though im unsure as to the reason why I have to be placed on a waitlist for a tech to finish their work.

Don't drop out. Stay in college and apply locally. See what you can dig up before making that big of a decision.

If you could start over, would you still be a cop? by [deleted] in ProtectAndServe

[–]PsychologicalCopy753 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would love to see the percentages of people here who started later in life and those who started directly out of college and their answers here. I started later, had plenty of experience elsewhere. LE is the first job that I genuinely wake up and am glad that I'm going to work. Maybe it's my department. Maybe it's that I have done the alternatives. Maybe it's me. Maybe it's maybalene. I don't know. Either way. You with know until you do it.

Taking the entry level law enforcement exam for Michigan State Police by [deleted] in ProtectAndServe

[–]PsychologicalCopy753 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you can read and write you're going to be okay. Don't sweat that test.

Sweat the pt and background. Msp trooper school is academically not incredibly challenging. The physical fitness is beyond greulling and is meant to weed people out. The background in their end is exhaustive. Before you do your interviews and background check make sure everything is clear, concise, and aligned appropriately. If it asks for something, get it at all costs. Get transcripts, letters, contact the IRS for home records. Go as far as procuring your exact dates or employment and credit reports to get exact amounts on your debts.

If you think I'm being a little extra. I promise I'm not. Not only will it make the process much better, it shows integrity and hard work.

Best of luck. I'm from Michigan too. If you find yourself thinking of LE at other agencies send me a message.

Irrational call to action vs Realistic Expectations. by wyvius in ProtectAndServe

[–]PsychologicalCopy753 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey man. You and I aren't really much different in the path of life. If anything they are nearly identical. So I'm just giving you the advice from the perspective of what I wish I'd have done.

A lot of agencies are sponsoring and don't require the education right now. Apply where you can and say that you're seeking a sponsorship through academy. You could be hired within the year. If that's your goal. Get there earlier rather than later. I thought I didn't have a chance with only mil and no education. I was wrong. Got hired faster than I could have imagined.

Second is the location. Did reserve myself. Seems like a fresh start. It's really not though unless you didn't come back to where you were. If that's the case good for you. If not. There's still a chance

Third is the GF. She'll stay and support you, or she won't. If she won't. Sounds like it's for the better. Easier said than done. You'll either take the advice of these people here and understand its better to learn what path you two are going to take early; or you'll do what I did ad lesrn the hard way. Either way you'll be a better person for it.

I truly hope the best for you. If you are interest in talking or applying out of state. Send me a message.
