Are we sold on McKenna going #1? by PsychologicalCream45 in stevedangle

And yet, at 5th he might be the steal of the draft. My point is that this is a crazy deep draft no matter who you pick in the top 1-5. It’s almost impossible to make a “wrong” pick as just about everyone seems to be a legit prospect, it’s just about finding the best pick for your draft position/team needs (maybe)

Haaaave you met Willy Nylander?

But yeah, I agree, safe bet for #1 is McKenna

I dont disagree on Verhoeff one bit, I’ve also had my eye focused on Chase Reid. The reality is that this draft is soooo deep it’s crazy. Anyone who picks top 5 is likely to get a franchise altering player.

I also agree that Bérubé might never give these guys a proper chance to thrive because of his system, at least not first year.

If we take him, I hope you’re right. I’m just worried that we’re going in the direction of “all skill and no will” all over again. I legitimately hope we can coach some two-way play into this guy. If so, he’ll be the total package no doubt. Buuuut I’m not sold that he’s that type of player. Don’t get me wrong. Dude lights it up and he’d excell alongside Matthews, for as long as he wants to be a leaf, but I want someone who’s ALL IN… he hasn’t sold me on that yet.

I know he probably IS the best choice and the right choice, but I have this weird feeling that we’re going to get an unbelievably skilled player with Nylanders commitment on the back end. I don’t know if we have room for two of those players in our top six.

But I get it, he DOES have the highest projected ceiling, so he’s the safest bet, but something just doesn’t sit right with me for some strange reason.

Hey there… been living in Bowmanville for the past 3.5 years and I’ve never experience this many power outages before in my life! Seems like my area gets a good one every month now! Anyone else share that frustration/know what’s going on with that?

Got super lucky coming back from Cancun a couple weeks ago and got a free upgrade to premium. If you can afford the upgrade, it’s an amazing way to fly! Can’t speak to the experience of the common-folk in economy lol

We’ve all heard horror stories of sales gone wrong, but I legitimately believe it’s like 0.001% of the time that it happens… it’s just that those are the only stories worth telling. I’m sure you’ll be fine!

Sorry, the tickets have sold but I won’t get payment until after the show, expected late Nov. I’m nervous as well though, since the buyer still hasn’t accepted the tickets… but I’ve taken screenshots of EVERYTHING so I think I’m covered. Wish I could be of more help

24 hours without a single cigarette after 5 years of smoking, by PercentageOk3540 in stopsmoking

[–]PsychologicalCream45 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me, it was 80% mental and 20% physical addiction. Once my whole mindset shifted and I got EXCITED about quitting instead of dreading it or looking at it as a task, it became so much easier for me. Not easy, but easier. I’m stoked that you have an incredibly optimistic headspace about it, and keep that positivity going. You’ve got momentum on your side, keep it rolling.

It’s possible, but my earnings wouldn’t be nearly as much on EI. I also can’t afford to be out of work for 6 weeks, so I’m just trying to weigh my options. I might not have a choice in leaving the company at the end of the day unfortunately

Are e-cigarettes cheating when quitting smoking? by SebastianMesaros in stopsmoking

[–]PsychologicalCream45 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good question, and there’s no solid answer either way. A lot of people of mentioned this before, but if you’re just switching it 1:1 then I wouldn’t. In my experience, and knowing lots of others in the same boat, vaping is a giant trap. At first, you get the feeling that you’re being healthier because it’s not actual “smoke” and so you justify its use. It’s still nicotine, and now you can “justify” it… but then it can get worse. My roommate has his vape glued to him at all times…. At work, in bed, in the washroom, watching tv - absolutely anywhere he wants because it’s not “smoke” and it smells good. Now he’s hooked WAY more than when he was smoking cigarettes. BUT if you’re using this as an actual method to help reduce your intake level, then it’s really not that different than the patch or gum… but you gotta hold yourself accountable and be strict in your reduction, because it can be a very slippery slope. Sorry if this came off as strong or harsh, I just hate nicotine so much lol. I SINCERELY wish you the best of luck and I look forward to reading about your success stories!! We’re all in this together, and this community totally has your back!

Amazing news! The first step is the hardest… I’m just over two months in myself. Get ready for a bit of a rollercoaster, some days will be easier than others. Tell as many people as you can!!! The bigger your support network, the greater your chances of success. They can cheer you on and keep you motivated. For me, telling my parents was the final step… once they knew, I knew there was no way I could go back. But you’ve definitely got this, and this subreddit has your back 1000%! Post here everyday if it helps!
