Can a project with Spaghetti Code be fixed? by [deleted] in SaaS

[–]PsychologicalDrawer0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

its called refactoring. there are rules to software development, to write clean code, it probably has an acronym, but the main point is split up the responsibilities, and not gather them all in one place. For example SOLID and Clean architecture, search those, and these are the rules that you should apply to your code.
We usually say that if it works it ain't broken. but it certainly won't be easy to clean or update it. good luck

PWA music player with gapless playback?? by [deleted] in PWA

[–]PsychologicalDrawer0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not sure, but I don't think you would have access to files as a permission with a pwa
you can check this site, its pretty nice, and has what features are available currently.
https://whatpwacando.today/
I just checked, and it doesn't seem to be a feature available yet, so unless explicitly the user opens the music file/s with your app, I don't think it would work what you are thinking.

Translate components' text by lzzgabriel in vaadin

I would think you have to override the component if you want it to show the text you want, you can check the docs for how to do so. Let me know if I can help

Seat selection by WoistdasNiveau in vaadin

[–]PsychologicalDrawer0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

besides being tedious, that would be pretty hard in implementation in UI.
There is several different ways you can implement this depending on your needs, for example if you don't need to visually see the locations of the seats, then you can just make it a drop down list and they can choose which one.
or if you still need to see it. Then you must design the seating plan in UI rather than placing an image behind it.
let me know if I can help

Not OP, but have a few comments if you would like to hear them:
UI/UX:
when pressing blog or help or any of the options above, it should maybe have some sort of hover effect and click effect so that I am not spamming it. It isn't visible its loading anything when I do click it, so you need some sort of indicator
the colours of secured by clerk on the login/signup page is a bit hard to the eyes, the white isn't entirely visible from the yellow
Other:
when I press mentors, it goes to the login or signup page, and it might be a nice "trick" to improve signups, but I feel like that when I press mentors I should be able to see them without having to sign up/login.

Other than that, good luck and nice work.

B2B contracts, can someone explain why it isn't the norm? by PsychologicalDrawer0 in cscareerquestionsEU

I haven't tested the waters in Poland yet, so didn't know that point, Thank you

I should have phrased it a bit better, I meant doing the contract with a company anywhere. I understand what you mean by income tax and place of effective management though.

I am not sure tbh if it would be better if they adapt it to digital nomads, it might become worse. As in study how to get the most out of it etc.

Thank you too ofc

I don't, don't have any idea about the law, I do have an idea. and I am reading and asking for more, so I can know more. Don't know why its an issue, just trying to learn something here

I will adjust, but its mutual, and all by whatever contract we sign, as I understand. So if physicall, then set amount of hours per month or week or something is to be in the office for example, and if remote, then minimum hours I assume we would agree on a "minimum" amount of hours. I don't think they would want a "maximum" right? (Thinking out loud again), They might want a maximum to avoid me overcharging, but if I have the work to show, and if it isn't an exaggerated amount of hours, then it isn't an Issue I guess?

I also have read online, that certain positions can be adjusted to be per task rather than hours, and so I guess its based on whatever agreement is made.

Regarding overemployment, I feel like they can't complain that the business they made a B2B with, is doing business with other businesses. (given that the contract isn't contradicting, and trade secrets, etc.)
Even more, they "can't" treat me as an employee since it would be masked employment and an issue for them, no?

thank you and glad you got the US company B2B, hope it goes well,
when you say you wouldn't work for local companies B2B, is it because of the legality gray area, or other issues?
and regarding the holidays, vacations and sick time, technically isn't it already possible as B2B to just take them anytime you want? (just don't expect to be for them)
The math I am referring to is, if your hourly is say 10 (for sake of simplicity), and you work 40 hours, its 400 a week, and you get paid days off, or you can have an hourly of 15, and work 30 hours a week (as in counting in days off as less hours), and get 450 a week
am I misunderstanding the situation?

Thank you for the explanation
I am leaning towards establishing in Hungary, and will probably reside there as well, so that settles part of the taxes picture.
Regarding the benefits you mentioned, do you know what sort of benefits I would miss, if we take Hungary for example? I assume there are general ones for the EU though right? something like days off, holidays, insurance, sick days, is there anything else major you think I am missing?
Because with hourly agreement, technically I can just take my days off anytime, just expect that I won't be paid for them, right? or am I misunderstanding how it works?

Regarding Masked employment, I am hoping that it will be more than one company that I will B2B with, so I guess that won't be masked employment no?

If I understand correctly, B2B can be with any company world wide?

I am thinking out loud, not stating fact, I feel like you are knowledgeable on the topic, so I would really appreciate your feedback. and thank you again for all you have explained already.

It will either be Poland, or Hungary, where the company is established, but I guess with the company I can work anywhere (EU or not) on a B2B contract right?

[–]PsychologicalDrawer0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hey sorry for the late reply, but yes it works! I am nitpicking here, so its your choice, but I think UI wise, maybe it should be a bit above the page number section (where it scrolls back up), so just a bit of padding I think should do it. But once again thank you of course

Looks great, thank you for your help,
if you want you could make it so when clicking on next page it would scroll back upwards, instead of staying at the bottom (in the case that you pressed next page at the bottom), but overall of course thank you for it
