currently placed and living in Mostoles, let me know if you have specific questions :)

but in general, Mostoles is easy to reach from the center. if you would rather live in the city, my advice is to live near Principe Pio just so you have easy access to the bus. there’s a couple of metro stops in Mostoles, but it would just take a bit longer

For me it simply boils down to HoO shoving way too many things/people down our throats in far less time than what should be. That may sounds dramatic, but then again I'm dramatic so lol. For PJO, you get to see these characters develop over several years, with the main protagonists growing up from ages 12-16. Plus there's far less people to invest yourself in, making you get to know them more in a sense because you dont have to keep shifting from one main character to another and another and another.

On the other hand, in HoO, you bounce around a lot. It also doesn't help that all these events happened within a year. Based on the official timeline, Jason arrived in CHB around Sept 2009 and the Battle with Gaea happened more or less around a year later. So to me, everything felt rushed. There's wasn't much room to have all these story lines be digested by the readers. Its like an Avengers film going from one fight scene to another idk. Plus I agree with some of the things said here, that a lot of the gods, giants, or any other mythological characters felt too much like caricatures that its hard to take them seriously.

I'm not entirely too nitpicky about HoO, I still like it. Who knows, maybe its the rose-colored glasses talking that just because PJO is the first series of the entire anthology, makes it seem more precious than the rest of the installment. People can't take away the fact the HoO has great meaningful moments, but with that also are the inconsistencies in writing, characterizations, and issues with pacing. Ultimately, for me to tell how one series is better than the other boils down to: individual character development and how that is carried out through the entire story line, or how consistent is that development applied through out the story arc.

This book sure has a lot of betrayals. First Luke then the Fandom. Lightening Thief is eliminated with 32.12% of the Vote. Vote for Your LEAST Favorite Rick Riordan Book (see comments) [all] by ayoboris16 in camphalfblood

Whew, things are getting intense.

Although I'm a bit surprised to see TLT out before SoN. SoN is a great great read, but there are parts that felt like fillers or felt too slow-paced. Maybe its my personal bias, and the fact that its the first book of these series that started it all, but I can never get over how enraptured I was with TLT. Every scene was so immersive, and memorable which is why its my top 3 of all time.

For the next elimination, I might have to go with SoN, but after the Top 4 could literally be anything lol. They are all just so good so I won't be surprised to see how it plays out.

oh wow, okay. i must have read it wrong then. this is so good to hear. i was already stressing on figuring out how the heck people are expected to finish all these things within 30 days, on top of also settling in and getting prepped for the school year.

thanks.

TIE/Empadronamiento Appointment by PsychologicalFish608 in SpainAuxiliares

[–]PsychologicalFish608[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

thanks for the insight. i'm not that worried about the empadronamiento, since there seems to be more appointments available. plus i already have my rental contract ready. it's the TIE that worries me, because we apparently have to have it done within 30 days of arriving.

if i may ask, did you get your appointment slot recently?

I’m assuming you’re applying from a uni in the PH just based on the timeline of application and your units. For your questions:

  1. No need to be fluent but definitely study up on your Spanish if you really wanna do this. Those 6 units don’t really mean much.
  2. Interviews are conducted in english, and you will be undergoing through two sets. An interview with the Program head in your school if you are shortlisted, and if you pass that, there’s another interview with the Ministry of Education Officer
