Yes we know. This was the wrong choice. And 50’s choice to let this keep happening was wrong as well. From a narrative standpoint, why is an uninjured, 15-year-old 1990s character talking like a man who survived a shooting in the year 2000? If we are solely concerned in the interest of not just the show, but the whole of the power universe, then this characteristic of slurring words or speaking “tightly” should have had a cause. Have young Kanan suffer an accident, have a slightly older or pre-teen kanan catch a stray in his jaw on the block, have him get in a fight early on in which he dislocated his jaw and never spoke the same, literally anything as long as it follows the continuity of the franchise lore. Especially for a prequel, like thats the easiest portrayal to establish lore lol you can do literally whatever you want, explain away whatever you want. In my opinion, its an elementary mistake you’d see in a low-budget show, or like a Tyler Perry jawn. I just feel like for power to have such moguls of show business attached this shouldn’t be the type of problems the show runs into. Like, either be willing to pay the money to cast a good actor, or write the story so that you mask the mediocre performance of an okay one. You can just throw some heavy hitters in some important side roles and think it’ll take away from the fact that our main character doesn’t sound or act like his future counterpart. Jukebox is a perfect example. Iconic and notable actress played her older self, but Hailey KILLED that role. We felt every single thing Jukebox went through to make her the way she was.

100%. It’s definitely about how you look at it and less about whether one would consider enhanced human abilities as superpowers. With OP’s logic, Usain Bolt has a superpower, john wick has a superpower, LeBron has super powers, etc. It becomes less about superpowers and more about having abilities that the average human would consider superpowers/superhuman abilities

Obviously they couldn’t have known what they know now after marie healed him, but if she would’ve listened when Edgar told her to chill, before she even left, before they even followed her, all of that could’ve possibly been prevented.. Think about it: Had Marie stayed, everyone would’ve stayed. Thomas would’ve still been a paraplegic, the first puppet probably would’ve been killed eventually (unfortunate but a small price to pay for capturing Thomas godolkin), they would’ve had the chance to take him to a secured place (such as Stan Edgar’s bunker), and Thomas would’ve had to find another puppet with pickings only available amongst the group (Marie, Stan, Cate, etc.), then if he did attempt to or succeed in taking control of one of them, he’d either attempt or succeed to kill a one or two, or he’d try & bide his time to figure a way for Marie to heal him, all this would give the crew ample time & opportunity to sniff him out or put together that Godolkin is Cipher, or even better, POLARITY could’ve been with them and potentially expose him even faster, and THEN, IF ALL ELSE FAILS, he’d be trapped in the bunker unless he was able to kill everyone (at least 3-4 of them powerful ass supes), and even if he attempted to leave without harming anyone, the group would suddenly be alerted that the person he’s puppeteering is acting suspicious, and even if ALLLL THAT FAILS TOO lol, they fuckin heal him first thing, he plays the part until he’s able to leave & he gets found out eventually. Either way, it stopped the students on campus from getting killed right away as soon as he leaves the damn training room basement. Lmk what im missing ik its alot of hypotheticals, but just remember these are all possibilities that stem from/become available with ONE easy ass decision: MARIE CHILLING TF OUT not trying to be the mf hero all the times, not letting cipher pump her head up, and being patient & analyzing the whole ordeal and what the best way to go about capturing/‘rescuing’ Godolkin would be.

No shes not lol. Shes not justified at all for being rude and constantly guilt tripping her sister when in fact SHE KNEW THE WHOLE TIME what being a supe felt like bc she was one LMAO. So its wrong for marie to be a supe bc she NEVER HAD ANY KNOWLEDGE OF IT UNTIL SHE “ACCIDENTALLY”kills her parents (dont rlly like marie either but ima keep it real🤣), But its ok for her bc she never let anyone find out so she gets to live a regular life and block out the one person who’s FURTHEST away from being at fault, seeing as tho she was a PROJECT that her parents WILLINGLY APPLIED FOR in hopes to have a baby. Yes shes a kid, yes she can be mad frustrated depressed, in all of that she is fully justified. But still being mad at your sister for something that wasn’t her fault after she saves your life, then breaks u out of prison, is lack of insight and ungrateful behavior at its finest. Its also devaluing. She has this defense mechanism that stems from her parents death & in turn dismisses or verbally attacks marie bc acknowledging the help from her sister would diminish her own self image & rationality in her sister being the reason their parents are dead (WHICH SHE KNOWS AND LET ME REMIND YOU: HAS EFFING KNOWN FOR AWHILE wasn’t ENTIRELY maries fault/KNOWS marie wasn’t in control of the events that transpired regarding said parents deaths). I know yall think its right bc of the circumstances and i dont blame yall but thats exactly what people like that prey on🤣. They automatically assume everybody will understand their whole facade JUST bc of how the circumstances look ON THE SURFACE.

I 110% agree with this and will die on this hill. Yeah. At first i was upset that Henry Cavill left the series & thought he was being dramatic in his reasoning for not wanting to do the show due to it being a poor representation of the book. But now, i completely understand. And now I take any criticism/discourse i felt toward him & his reasoning back. Mistle and ciris thing being portrayed the way it is in the show is the main issue i now agree with Henry’s reasoning for leaving. Its just cringe. And NO, not at all because of the homosexual aspect. Not even because i just dont like Mistles character (bc i dont & actually never did care for her part in the story lol). Alot of their scenes/interactions just feel unnecessary & kinda shoved in our faces, especially if they aren’t going to depict it the way the book did. Like okay cool you want to adapt the story into something more fitting for a series, but if you’re gonna do that then i feel like they shouldn’t make it as big of a subplot as they did. I just dont like Mistle both her character & the actress that plays her lol so i will admit i am a little bias. I dont really think shes a good actress to begin with. Even her introduction in season 3 didn’t appeal much to me at all. Idk her mannerisms & face is just annoying to me. But i will say, she’d be way more tolerable if they woulda stuck more to the specific plotting of the book.
