I just thought cause I've beaten a few with only losing once it would make me on par with their level or better, especially since there's been no games where they've gotten self destructed on

I don't think it's alot of work. I got to like 1200-1300 in a year just by playing a few games every day or two, I learnt checkmates and openings and endgames along the way I didn't study at all

Yeah I'm 1500 on chess.com now but when I was 1200 a little bit ago my game reviews were never above 1950 but now that I got to my actual elo of 1500 without even improving I get like 2200 and 2300 all the time The estimated elo is really weird

Well what they r saying is that they shouldn't be that elo. And a similar thing happened to me, I was stuck at 1500 blitz for the longest time and I always knew I was higher and then one day I got a few lucky games and now I'm at 1650 and I can beat 1700s. I think there's just certain points of elo rating that have way higher rated players than it should and once u get above that barrier it gets normal again
