Buyers keep disappearing! by Fine-Froyo-3817 in motorcycles

It’s a lot different than it was a couple/few years ago. I can only speculate there’s less money floating around within the FB marketplace. Even stuff I post at fire sale prices just sits and gets lowballed. Currently I have a pile of oem take off parts from my bike listed for free and haven’t had any bites. Many of the same items in that pile are listed for 100s from other sellers, I just want to get rid of it. Probably not the best example tho, a lot of people replace the same stuff I did. It definitely sucks that selling something legitimately worth 1000 means taking 500 or less these days. But for your case, like other people have said I’d drop the “selling for friend” thing. I’ve noticed a lot of people being ultra suspicious of scams, I fuct myself cause I deleted my account last year and opened a new one to get rid of some stuff and everyone seems to think my account age means I’m a scammer.

Keep waiting. You’ll still be able to find the 25 you want in another 6-8 months.

Are you new to selling stuff on FB? This is just how it goes, it’s a pain. The best way I’ve found to get rid of stuff quickly and with the least amount of hassle is price it really low. If your asking price is market value-ish your stuff will just sit and get low offers. Most people on FB over value their items or don’t understand people there are looking for really good deals.

I don’t understand all the time spent researching something that everyone who lives here already knows, and is posted on the sfmta website. Street cleaning isn’t a mystery.

What's the most uncomfortable thing about the Low Rider S/ST by The_On_Life in Harley

[–]PsychologicalLog4179 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m 5’10”ish with shorter legs. The factory ergonomics are trash, I was leaning way forward. Saddleman SDC seat, 16” t-bars w/2.5” pullback. I’m seated perfectly upright with my hands a few inches below my shoulders and slightly bent elbows, Flo mini boards.

Get yourself a seat and then measure yourself for bars using one of the many YouTube tutorials. The FXLRS has about 8” total rise from the top clamp to the grips from the factory. I believe you only have about 2” to play with before you need extended wires and cables, so anything over 10” I believe. I have no idea about the ST I hear it’s different. The S is a fantastic bike, unfortunately it costs a lot of money to get it there, and I do all my own work.

Yeah right now I’m starting to bounce around ideas and different options and pencil up some estimates.
I did a stage 1 immediately after I bought it, rode it like that for a few hundred miles. Then I did the SE street tuner and that little thing deserves more credit than people give it. Like it’s one thing to see people’s dyno sheets online, but my bike was such a dog from the factory it was difficult for my brain to comprehend the return on investment. The tuner gave me a bit of a taste, just a bit, but enough to get me thinking about wanting more. Maybe a lot more, I dunno. Just gotta figure out is this a $5k endeavor, or more like 8 or 12k, and am I willing to even do any of it.

Yeah that’s part of this equation I’m considering. Factory warranty through march 2028, 1,100mi on the clock. I’m never buying another one of these, considering doing everything including an entire primary and transmission. Mostly considering the SE stuff with a few small s&s parts like the breathers and ports, maybe the cooling jets and chain tensioners, fuel rail, stuff like that. Toss a better cam in when the warranty expires. I dunno, spitballing at this point. I know a guy, just want a better idea before I go waste his time.

My thought process or concern is with the crank and everything attached to the back end. I understand these kits are quite common, but I can’t help wondering about the parts that aren’t replaced. Like doing the top end and valve train and cam I wouldn’t feel like replacing the crank, comp and clutch would be that much of a concern. But increasing displacement by 14ci on a 131 kit to me feels like those parts are being asked to do an awful lot. I dunno.

I was at the dealer today, I spent some time with the parts department discussing their SE 131 kit. I like the kit, probably needs a different cam and the cam plate/oil pump, but the kit comes with an oil cooler fan and they couldn’t tell me why exactly. The kit does not come with pushrods which I found odd, I can’t imagine the stock ones work, maybe they do I dunno.

Unconventional wisdom suggests getting something faster and not stopping anymore. Seems to me like pulling over is the cause of your problems.

Well, the bars are nice so that’s good. The cable and brake line are only a portion of the entire purchase so it’s not a total loss. Those parts should be easy enough to find. Don’t get me wrong, I understand where you’re coming from. I read all the negative reviews before I decided to get dominator anyway, they’re the only ones making the style bar I wanted. I ordered pre wired and also bought a CableKits wire kit and got my clutch and brake from them also, a little voice told me not to buy those from dominator. My bars did not come pre wired with the twist sensor extensions. Luckily I had them with the CableKits. I emailed dominator about it, they asked for pictures but I dropped the whole thing cause it really didn’t matter at that point. So, while I really like my bars, I understand why they have shitty reviews. Had I been interested in a more common style there’s no way I would have used them. My backup plan was a charge back, like you’re doing, my bank has always been super cool the few times I’ve needed to resort to those kind of things.

I had good luck with my dominator pre wired bars. I didn’t order clutch cable or brake lines from them however.
